My point is late game. Once you reach a certain level, there is no challenge left to warrant infinite leveling, even without power armor. I'd rather have more enemies on screen than bullet spongier enemies, also.

you can't really call it a balance issue when a good chunk of the people who play the game will still find it hard even with the power armor

that happens to EVERY RPG though, they will always eventually get to a point where the game goes easy mode, it is an inevitable part of an RPG.

I DO agree personally, there DOES need to be some kind of balance, but it will never happen, that is teh cost of the open skill/ability system the games have. they will NEVER be balanced and it is not possible to make a lot of things equal enough for them to be usable.

Not really. You can have mods that add more enemies. Give enemies better weapons, give them perks. *shrugs* At least that's my experience with past beth games. Mods can add in loads more difficulty without resorting to sponges.

nope, even with those mods, it still eventually got to the point that the game was REALLY easy.

There's something missing here, and I think it's that the OP is really hungry and was really looking forward to this soup :lmao:

Tell that to a legendary mr. Gutsy and Assaultron on survival. They shred through my Maxed X-01 Enclave Power Armor in seconds :(

Ya know what...I actually agree with you on this point. I am only level 19 right now but am experiencing this already. I can take out almost anything with my 10mm handgun, while wearing only clothes as well. My S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats are in no way maxed out. I do completely agree, that at a certain point, at a certain level, enemies become more of a nuisance than anything else. I also agree that there should be an area of highly powerful enemies. Maybe an arena or something. Just my 2cents.

The point of open world RPG′s from Bethesda is to become godlike after enough time. The point of mods is to keep that process interesting. Petition Bethesda for a higher difficulty and/or wait for mods to add more and harder enemies.

Here's a suggestion, Don't use power armor. It is very selfish that you want everyone's power armor to be nerfed just because you think it's OP.

Don't use it then. It's supposed to make one a literal walking tank. That's why the Chinese had to resort to nukes when PLA got decimated. And we're talking about Chinese Army with tanks and stuff, not oversized reptiles or raiders.

I restarted my 1st playthru after lvl 25ish

I already restricted myself to the T51 variant (on survival), and I'm near invulnerable. Without any of the DR perks!

And even if I get hurt, I just eat some dogs.

Btw: what are stimpacks good for? they heal less then dog steaks

I'd rather have it Lore Friendly and powerful, than "balanced" and made of tissue paper. I don't personally play RPG's for difficulty or challenge, I play them to be transported into a different life for a while. I like the fact that I can mod up a suit of Power Armour and just go butt-whooping every now and then (or all the time if I have the resources). If I fancy more of a challenge I take it off. It's far more fun for me the way it is now.

Power armor is more than fine, and mods can fix or tweak any little thing towards someone's personal preferences - even making cores last forever. If you have a problem with using it, DON'T USE IT. Yes, this is a solution. A completely valid one. It doesn't ignore the OPness of power armor - it's intended to be OP. It's intended to be the alternative "easy mode" to actually setting the difficulty lower. It's intended to be empowering. It's for these reasons I never really bust it out and romp around with it. At least, not until I start my stat-only character I imagine.

If this were an MMO the argument to nerf PA would be completely valid, but it's not. It's a single player RPG, so the only things to be competitive against are NPCs, which try to remain balanced around the player and the difficulty setting within reason. Someone else said it best - the OP's argument is like that of a kid with their hand in the cookie jar and complaining they can't stop eating cookies, but instead of taking their hand out, they want someone to put the jar out of reach. Some players are completely happy playing their isolated, solitary RPG experience with both hands in that jar. You don't get to determine if they're allowed to or not. Bethesda will do nothing.

This is what the kids have been clamoring for... a game where they can run around and shoot things with little fear of dying. Welcome to Fallout 4 where after you leave the vault and kill a few bugs you get power armor, a laser musket, and can run around to your hearts content killing stuff. There is no RPG to it. There is little to any strategy once you get power armor 5 minutes into the game. There is just lots of guns and overpowered armor.

Interesting how the "PA makes you immortal" folks only respond to the people saying "don't use it", but not to the people talking about how they still get killed wearing PA.

And, when you get that PA at the start of the game, you don't yet have the fusion cores needed to use it constantly. So yeah, they hand you PA and you then wade through the rest of the game with no thought. Uh huh. Right.

worst part is, if u actually fallow the F3 main quest u get PA super quick too, same goes for NV, i u just kill some Brotherhood near their base that is close to the starting zone.

Power Armour is supposed to be an answer to Chinese Tanks.... so YES, it is powerful and is supposed to be that way. You can jump off the Prydwen's forcastle and land without any damage (which is awsome). You can jump off towers as well. You have to think of it as a one man tank.

It is not invulnerable by far. I went in thinking that... and svcked on a Mini-Nuke. You have to repair the thing after every battle too or you will lose limbs.

Oh and regarding Deathclaws... I have taken down Deathclaws WITHOUT power armour (there was one battle where I was fighting an Alpha Deathclaw in the basemant of a building and it was like a Benny Hill chase. I kept shooting him a bit and then running... shooting, running etc. Worked in the end but man... was sooooooo close.

Some of the toughest ones now are those Vampiric blood bugs. Even the Putrid Glowing Ferals are managable... just cripple the legs. You don't need Power Armour except for things like the REALLY big monsters... and that is what I keep collecting it for.

Oh and keep a lookout for Vertibird and Brotherhood fights because sometimes they lose and you can loot the armour parts. Got two T60 sets from that.

You see, here's the thing I don't think your getting here. You have the option to wear the armor, or not to wear the armor. You calling for it to be nerfed, does it for EVERYONE. You do not get to decide how the game is played for everyone else. That should pretty much end the discussion right here and now. If YOU feel the armor is too powerful, STOP USING IT.

If the game developers listen and make a change, then other people who do not agree with you get screwed over. Stop saying and doing things that affect other peoples play of this game. There, I don't think I could have said it any plainer.

This just in: I decided to sell my T-60 pieces the moment the BoS gave them too me because I felt it would completely break the progression to be handed a full suit of the best power armor before I had even found all the pieces to the second set.

I am now continuing on playing as if nothing happened, it works.

I also think the power armour is quite common and cores are far more plentiful than in other fallout games. Perhaps the commonwealth had more to begin with?

But without power armour your crap ai settlers would run to their deaths in waves and it would be unfair on those who enjoy playing this way.

Now one forces you to use the armour and this would be the perfect project for a mod. Nerf Power Armour mod. Then players can pick to have weaker less useful armour at their own risk without ruining other players fun.

You could really mix things up with unstable cores that leak rads or that go supernova. Or armour parts that have negative efforts. That's what mods are for....
