Immersion breaker ftl.

I would have liked to loot Billy Creel's eyepatch but it didn't break the immersion that I couldn't.

Or you find "Power Armour Parts" instead of a full suit, which you can then sell to interested parties, and eventually even have made into a full working suit :D

I think it should just weigh like 200-300 pounds to keep people from hording it for later use. But once you do get it, it increases STR by a good margin, and the weight restriction goes away and you should be able to carry more equipment. But that might not make sense.

i like that idea, like the least damaged limb part is what it gives you "Power Armor Left Leg Parts" then you have to have a repair skill of like 70 to build it with the parts.

In an rpg if you come across a sweet piece of armor/weapon you should be able to loot it bottom line especially if you are able to eliminate the person that has it.

The weight restiction shouldnt go away, but PA should weigh nothing when your wearing it. ~ Its self supporting

Id prefer it if you werent capable of doing it yourself, unless you were incredibly good at repair & science, intelligent and had found yourself a Technical Manual for the type of PA it is ~ Do i smell a sidequest?
A few options is good, the possibility to repair it yourself if your skills allow (and you have the right equipment), or getting someone else too (for whatever cost)

It'll be fine if you have to throw everything you got at them with the damage threshold added. I just remember being able to kill BoS guys with a freaking baseball bat in F3.

What I am hoping is that wearing PA will boost my STR higher then 10. If I have 9 STR and PA gives 3 STR I should have 12 STR. Talking Buffout should boost it past 10 as well.

Some of these people have ridiculousy high standards for a game.

Either way. As long as its wearable, but training is required. It'll be all good.

This, remember how intelligent people with 9 int can only get a +1 int from mentats, I hope this cap is removed.

If 10 is the pinnacle of human strength, why and how could you get above that? Doing this would also get us back to "these go to 11" again. 10 is the top number, please no going higher. You cant get better than perfection.

PA really should give an indiscriminate boost, it should boost to a certain point. The strength it gives is dependent on the armour, not the individual wearing it. Just as a car doesnt go faster just because a really fast runner is sat in it.

If we are already stronge and in a suit that boosts are str even more why should we not be able to go above 10? I just don't see why not. If we take the suit off we lose the STR boost. I am not asking for it to be permanent boost.

It's been awhile I would have to re install FO2 but I am sure it's how it works, it's that way in Tactics.

Elaborate please. In the elder scrolls 3/4 and fallout 3 if I saw an item in the world or on a body I would just take it. I can't remember trying to take anything and not being able to.

Play FO1 and FO2, they are RPG and you can't loot the Armour.

What im saying is that the PA should only be able to physically boost to a certain point, . 10 is as strong as you can possibly be, 10/10 strength. Theres nothing above that (unless you want to go up to 11?)

I actually genuinely dont think that the boost given should realistically* depend on the character strength, it should depend on the strength of the armour. So rather than PC's Strength +2, it should be the strength of the PA = 8 (for example) This would be because the character actually uses the PAs servo's etc rather than their own strength. Unless their natural strength is higher than the threshold of the armour, in which case that should be used. *2

*(within the context, shh dont start on the realism malarky)
*2 of course this would be less fun, not really the sort of thing i would like to see implemented. Just sayin :)

Point is PA gives you a boost no matter what your strength. So if I already have 10 I should have more then 10 while wearing it. It should be your strength plus 2 or 3. That's what PA does it's boosts a persons strength and makes them a tank. It should not sense that you are already stronge and take away the boost.

Heroic Strength :D

Maybe for some people. To me it makes sense. PA is very complicated even the BoS has trouble fixing it. I just shot the guy with he most powerful weapons and almost got myself killed trying. His armour would be blown open and no way in hell I could fix it. Metal or combat armour almost anyone could fix that so it makes sense.

There is nowhere else in the world where it can be found off of a body? What if I find it somewhere else what happens when you try to take it?
