No powerjump-aiming down sights? It was in the demo!!!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 11:34 am

Why are some amazing power/speed-based features absent in the retail version's Single Player Campaign?

Stuff that was AMAZING in the PC Multiplayer demo (haven't gone MP on retail yet):

1) Ability to aim down sights on-air after a Power Jump (enables headshots after a powerjump, makes for more dynamic playstyle, throws your enemy's aim off and it's just awesome!). The way it is now, you just spray bullets from the air like a goddamn idiot!

2) Ability to Sprint while reloading a weapon (enables you to sprint-get the hell out of there when the automatic reload kicks in or when you are caught off-guard while reloading). Is Alcatraz REALLY too stupid to do two simple things such as reload and sprint? I can do it in real life, for christ's sake... He's a Marine in a NanoSuit!

These two things alone made the entire game SO MUCH MORE DYNAMIC. I would LOVE to see these in the Single Player Campaign! They were in the Multiplayer demo, so what the hell gives?! The ability to play the campaign with a dynamic playstyle akin to Crysis 1's Speed Mode simply made the entire game for me. Now I feel like I was misled into buying the game by false advertising.

Is there any way to enable these two abilities through console commands or something like that?

NOTE: I have also found incredibly strange that the Marshall shotgun (AND THE MARSHALL SHOTGUN ONLY, NO OTHER WEAPON IN THE ENTIRE GAME) allows for sprinting AND sliding while reloading! (no on-air ADS after powerjump though).

NOTE 2: It would also be amazing to be able to Aim Down Sights during a Power Slide...

In crysis 1 you could aim down sights while power jumping and reload while sprinting, given the trend im not surprised crytek got rid of those things too, they have a habit of getting rid of all the awesome aspects of crysis 1.

You were able to sprint while strafing and run into enemies in Speed Mode as well, not to mention the passive effect of Speed Mode (having it on but not Super Sprinting) made you pretty much as fast as Crysis 2's Super Sprint...

However, given the abilities I mentioned avobe, the game would simply feel "different".

Right now, it feels slow, sluggish and downright tank-like. Crytek, this ain't no Killzone.

@Hedgehog: Then I don't know what the hell is wrong with me? I can't do either. I am from Spain, so you would think perhaps the spanish retail is different, but my friend from the USA can't do those either!

WTH are we doing wrong?

For the record: I usually play with Cloak Tracker // Nano Recharge // Mobility Enhance // Stealth Enhance.

What Trex-Luk just described sounds beautifully like the former Strength Mode's ability to nullify recoil at the cost of Suit Energy. This should be in the finished retail game, damn it!

Whatever happened to all the MP Demo awesomeness?!

It was too complicated for the console players...

So remove it from the consoles... Although I did play the PS3 version and found no problems to play in a dynamic powerjumping-sprinting-ADSing on air-way.

"Console port" is a poor excuse. While the game's level design does suffer because of consoles, everything else is just plain laziness. C'mon. All this stuff WAS IN THE CONSOLE MP DEMO TOO! (And it was awesome in the consoles as well, mind you...)

I miss aiming-down-sights and pressing SHIFT for power mode to kick in... You had no recoil without any perk at a cost of suit power - it was in demo :(. But i guess no-recoil-ADS perk would be useless to most ppl with brain then xD

You don't have power aiming-down-sights in MP? I haven't tested it but I know it works in the SP. I actually forgot about it from Crysis 1 till I stumbled upon it today in SP. So I have to try it in MP here in 20 minutes.

But if it's not there I'm gonna be furious.

Damn it, you're right! This is amazing, I had no idea you could do this in single player. It should be in MP too!

What about powerjump ADSing or sprint reloading though? Just been testing it again and no go...

Man, this is the PC. Not only is cloak ridiculously easy to see, but sprinting targets CAN be hit (maybe not 100% consistently) with a mouse with some ease.

In Cloak mode, being shot drains your suit energy LIKE CRAZY, not to mention you die ultra-fast. Shoot the cloaking guy -> no more suit energy -> no more sprint and guy is pretty much dead anyways -> dead guy.

EDIT: just so we can make sure: Everyone in here has the game patched to 1.1, right? (I ask this because of the dude who can supossedly Powerjump-ADS and reload while sprinting).

Hah! "Adapt or perish" is a great quote.

Read my initial post though: My main complaint is that these features are NOT IN THE SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN!

I don't care if they are in the multiplayer or not (although having them is 10 times nicer, I loved the demo) since I can just... Adapt or perish!

However, Single Player is another story. I don't play to win. I play to have fun. And I have much more fun if I can actually run around and do speedy stuff like in Crysis/Warhead.

I may just perish.. Of boredom!

It didn't work in the leaked version. However, just like in the final retail, sprint+reload and slide+reload DO work ONLY with the Marshall Shotgun...

It DID work in the official PC Multiplayer Demo (at least with the Jackall Shotgun and the SCAR), though! So what the hell!

Crytek is full of ****. Bring back these awesome features.

Anyone else who CAN Powerjump+ADS//Sprint+reload in SINGLE PLAYER? Anyone knows of console commands or anything else to enable these features?

Okay, what the crap?

I played Multi yesterday and, voilĂ , there you have it!

You CAN powerjump+ADS and you CAN reload+sprint. WHY?! WHY NOT IN THE SINGLE-PLAYER?!

For the love of god, is there ANY way to enable both of these in the Single-Player campaign?!
