[Relz] Pozzo's Rise of House Telvanni v1.3

Um, how precisely do I
Spoiler
knock out Edwinna without killing her? Sometimes I kill Woronac's shade first, but either way, it doesn't seem to work. If this is meant to use the character's hand to hand skill, I'm in trouble - I have none.
Help?

The quest will continue once her fatigue drops below 1. I have always used hand to hand combat to achieve this, but that's only one possibility. You can also use a drain/damage/absorb fatigue spell. :)

D'oh! Thanks for answering so quickly, that was very frustrating. Since the first thing I ever enchanted was a ring with constant Levitate, I tend to forget that fatigue exists. Now I'm

I you encounter anything that's illogical to you, please tell me of it: I'll make a (really) small update early next year, and I can definitely improve the mod where it's needed. But since I wrote the whole thing, I'm somewhat blind to its shortcomings.
However, if "lost" is only equivalent to "my map isn't working in there", that's intentional. In my opinion, there's no such thing as a working "mind-map". ;) The doors still work, they just won't show up on the map.

Yeah, I figured that was deliberate. I just can't find my way in the corridors after the room with the fans - spotted an observatory patterned after the one in Galom Daeus, but there's nothing there. Plus the levitating spiders broke my Boots of Blinding Speed and I'm exploring at a crawl... :/

Oh, you're in the maze... yes, that's a bit tricky without an in-game map.
Hint: the observatory is only meant to be eye-candy. When you have reached it, you know that you have taken the wrong turn.
Another hint: basically, all you have to do is take the

Thanks for that. I think I'd've never found my way otherwise... Managed to get through the rest nicely (with the hints already on this thread about how to get into a certain basemant), and now all I need to do is find

the relevant information in Therana's tower
. I have a feeling I'm close to clearing the mod...

Thanks for the amazing work on it, I haven't been able to stop playing. In my mind my character is actually anti-slavery and not in the least racist (in fact, the ultimate meritocrat - it doesn't matter what you look like as long as you do your job well; everyone should have an opportunity to prove themselves, hence the anti-slavery, but if they waste the opportunity, then they really don't deserve another - which I don't find contradictory with Telvanni philosophy). I loved how, despite the very set responses to the dialogues, these dialogues didn't in the least imply what the character is thinking. Politics is politics, after all, and if it keeps your advisor under control to let him think he's the power behind your ideas.... ;)

I'm encountering a minor bug. Aryon's disposition (as well as everyone else in his tower) toward my character keeps dropping from 100 to 34 every time I return to him after completing one of his chores. I first noticed this after completing the Mages Guild Monopoly quest (went back to a previous save which fixed it), and again after the Shishi quest.

I'm using RoHT 1.3 & BUUG. Could this be a problem arising from using both mods?

Umm, I'm not sure that BUUG even does anything to Aryon. I think that ROHT only adds a few dialouge lines. Do you use LGNPC?

Yes, I'm using several LGNPC mods - in fact, all of them except for Uvirith's Grave. You think those plugins are causing the problem?

It's not really a major issue, as I can use fortify personality potions. Just wondering why it's happening.

RoHT doesn't change Aryon's disposition. Since the bug already occurs during House Telvanni's early quests, it's quite safe to assume that this is due to another mod: RoHT only begins after the player has become Archmagister.

Edit:
@Nemain:

I guess that you have thoroughly searched Therana's tower and found your information by now. Just in case you have overlooked it, here's a hint:

Since I made my first post I've figured out it couldn't be either RoHT or BUUG, as the disposition hit also affects the orcs in Ghorak Manor as well as the slaves I have in my own Ald Morgatha mod (???).

I have too many mods installed for me to go hunting around. I'd rather be playing the game :) so I'll just have to deal with it.
Sorry for hijacking the thread and thanks for the quick replies.

Do you overuse any personality enhancers by any chance?

I usually play female Bosmer with the Lady birthsign, whereas for RoHT I'm playing a Dunmer male with Atronach birthsign, so yes, I've been using fortify personality potions quite a bit with this character. Also, because of my high alchemy skill they tend to be very much high-end potions upping my personality well past 100.

This is likely the problem - when you talk with someone while your personality is enhanced, and you later loose the effect (potion/spell wearing off, removing a CE enchanted item) their disposition drops (the greater the effect, the bigger the loss). This is why you'd better save potions on people you'll talk once or twice and bribe (selling potions should give you a big enough income) those you'll interact with more often.

Well, BHL, ever since I started using 1.3, it has been working fine. The only thing that isn't good is the fact that when I enter the Grand Council Chambers it freezes, and I have to turn off the computer. Since it is in the Skink in Tree's Shade quest, I figure it must be ROHT, or an interaction between LGNPC and RoHT.

I've started a new character and, since she's going to join Telvanni, I decided this mod was a must-have. :)

So far (and I'm not very far in the game) I've noticed a minor problem: Alighiere's Absorb Health spell (RoHT_Alighiere's_BloodThirst) was added to a lot of NPCs all over the world.

So, I started looking for conflicts. Long story short... the problem was with a personal mod of mine that tweaks a lot of big and small things.
My mod makes Absorb Health cheaper ; Alighiere's spell is set as "always succeeds" and "auto calculate cost".
Thinking about it, I remembered reading somewhere that a spell with those setting may be added automatically to any NPC with decent spellcasting ability.
So I made a test, and set the spell to a fixed cost (I also removed the "always succeeds" tag, just for good measure). This solved the problem.

As I said, not a big problem, really: it's only likely to show up with mods that tweak spellcasting costs. Still, going to the Council Club and seeing Sovor Trandel throwing an uber-absorb spell at you is a nasty surprise for a low-level character! :P

Another thing:

I go to Dagon Fel and guards tell me "Dagon Fel is in Telvanni hands now".
"A bit strange", I think; "oh well, maybe it's supposed to be so right from the start..."
Then I go in the guard tower and find a couple of new books. Very nice reading, but at the end one of them mention my character being the archmagister of Telvannis.
Uh? I'm not even a member of House Telvanni, yet! :D

I haven't been able to reproduce this (yet), but I'll definitely look into it when I begin work on v1.31. Thanks for reporting it!

Yes, I have noticed this recently, too. I was visiting the Draken city from Wizard's Islands and was very surprised to see that spell for sale. Actually, this bug is a bit embarrassing since I reported the exact same thing to MadMax regarding his "Lord of the Dragons" mod a couple of years ago.

:embarrass: I'll fix it with the next update. Thanks for reporting those bugs!

Glad to help, this mod looks really well done and is one of the most interesting I've seen lately. :)
And when you make such a large mod you are bond to miss some detail here and there; that's pretty much impossibile to avoid. ;)

Since I'm playing a new game, I'll keep looking for possible problems.
Keep up the excellent work!

Sorry, it seems not to be your mod, but instead Stuporstar's wonderous Uvirith's Legacy...

It seems that one of my global scripts running in the background is the cause of this problem, because I've made no alterations to Ebonheart or anything in it whatsoever. With gaiusimperator's help I'll soon track down which one it may be and hopefully stabilize it. :)

Edit: There's more about this in the UL thread, but apparently it was a dirty save issue.

ummm, I noticed, and maybe this is because directions are mixed up in Morrowind, but the abandoned house pod is on the West Coast, not the East...
Sorry I didn't say anything about this during my Beta Test.

Oops. Thanks for noticing it. :goodjob: For everyone who's puzzled about who says otherwise: while trying to solve Exanda's trouble http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4449, I posted RoHT's related Journal entry which refers to the pod as being situated on Vvardenfell's northeastern coast. I'll fix this with version 1.31. :)
