Practical advice for Enchanting my gear?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 8:14 pm

I'm an archer mage at around level 30, and have been grinding up my enchantment level. (no, it wasn't a fast level up, I enjoyed the whole process and gradually opened the whole map doing misc. quests on the side).

Now my enchantment is at 100 with the double enchantment ability attained in the Enchantment tree (smithing is around 50).

1/ What spells? I have a fairly good mix of enchantment spells available but WHAT ENCHANTMENTS will give me the most bang for my buck?

2/ What items? Can I enchant regular clothing? (hardly any of the apparel I own is 'enchantable' so I don't know what I should be enchanting). Would enchanting a glass bow still be better than enchanting a long bow or do damage factors mean little outside of the enchant spell cast on the item?

3/ Should my smith perk be also levelled? I see arcane smithing perk might be important. Do I need anything past that?

4/ Where do I get Fortify Enchanting potions (or should Alchemy be a priority for me?)

Thanks fellow casters!

...was good for levelling up... not so sure about it's efficacy vs. Health Damage, Stamina Damage, etc. what about clothing? any advice there?

Should I mix & match various spells or use the same one on all my clothes to 'stack' the effect? If I have two spells per item, what's the best combo?
