Praise the Devs and Pass the Ammo: We got M1911s!

The Police Pistol with cowboy perk and JFP is at 39 DAM with low spread and even -DT ability. I realize the 10mm is more 'powerful' than the .45, but think about it from balancing standpoint.

Cowboy perk applies to the Police Pistol now? When did they fix that? It didn't work when DM came out.

Ah you're right! It does that much WITHOUT the perk! I think it would do something like 47 DAM with Cowboy Perk. Police pistol is pretty strong

It is worth noting that the 12.7mm Pistol has the worst spread of all pistols.

That's true, I think it's at 1.0 or so which is pretty bad, usually have a bit more trouble hitting targets at mid range. I'd say a capacity of 8 to balance it? The Burned man looks awesome btw, digging the vest.

7 is classic and I assume that by volume based on military orders alone, it must be the most common. My Series 80 holds 7.

Compact/"Officer" versions often hold 6.

OK. So it'll have a magazine of 7 then. And possibly, if a unique is available, it might be a carry/officer's model with a magazine of 6. You know the chambering for the M1911 by volume based on military orders alone would be .45ACP.

If we get a suppressed version or mod, and the can is http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm106/ARSE_classified/DSC06708.jpg, you're gonna lose brownie points Elvis!

P.S. can we get a silenced version or mod?

Since the .45ACP is an inherently subsonic round, a supressed version would not be outside rational logic. That is, of course, if it is in .45ACP.

Awesome. However my favourite handgun will always be the Colt 6520 / N80 / N99 10mm Pistol! Even at level 35, I carried my Weathered 10mm Pistol with me everywhere! :D

In real life, I love the 10x25mm AUTO cartridge and my Glock 20 that fires it. A superb round that rivals the .45 ACP. Perhaps not as heavy as a round, but almost as straight of a trajectory like the little 9x19mm. But I must say that it's almost all because of Aliens and Fallout that I became so aware of a 10mm caliber cartridge and love it so. I can get 10 rd or 15 round magazines for it.

I also had a Kimber 1911 .45 once with a 10 round double-stacked magazine (it's not called a clip, people). I think it was even possible to get a 13 or 15 rd mag for it. I'm hoping the .45 will have a similar sized mag. Likely because it's considered such a large caliber (11.4mm), it would carry less rounds than all the other automatics except for the Sig-Sauer 12.7mm Pistol, which it should have at least a couple more bullets than. Plus it should do a little bit more damage but have a slightly slower rate of fire to the 10mm. Really the differences should be marginal and merely up to preference.

Yeah, since we don't have one for the 9mm, (but we do have one for the 12.7mm which IS outside rational logic) I'd like one for the M1911.

9x19mm Para is typically supersonic and 12.7mm is a fictional round.

I just don't understand why .45 Caliber ammo can't be in New Vegas, DLC. It was in past Fallouts so why not have it? Even if there is ammo that is pretty much the same as .45, why not have both?

Can be used for Colt .45 and Tommy Gun. Both of which have been in past Fallouts.

I would gladly give up .22 for . 45

I was thinking that the 12.7 was the old WWII round from the Russian Dhuska (DShK) HMG..

Yeah... but didn't you say yourself that's it's essentially .50AE? I know the .50AE is probably leaning more towards subsonic than 9x19, but... well... I've never seen a can on a Desert Eagle. It doesn't matter though, I'm just groaning because I want a silenced 9mm.

*sigh*

The Russian version of a .50 caliber rifle round is 12.7x109mm

That means it's about as long as your hand, my question is, where would that fit in a pistol?

There is a modification chambered for the 10mm cartridge. It's called Delta Elite.

Never said it would, just that it isn't fictional :D

edit:
45-70 trapdoor is 53mm, which is only half that.. I could think up a gun that could fire it..

take yer hand off though ;)

This is true we had to use sub-sonic rounds in our MP5SD's

I know, my point was, New Vegas' 12.7mm round is 12.7x33 (IIRC), which is a pistol round, not a rifle round.
Most people assume .50 cal means "BARETT BULLIT!!11".

Ah you're right! It does that much WITHOUT the perk! I think it would do something like 47 DAM with Cowboy Perk. Police pistol is pretty strong

I love the Police Pistol...if they'd only fix the skin to put in a rear sight and make the applicable perks work with it I'd be a happy camper.

You have 2 wrists, so what does it matter if you break one if you've got a spare?

12.7mm hand cannon, for when you absolutely must bombard a city with a side arm... except no substitute.
