Praise be to Vinegar Ra... and his jewelry!

Post » Mon Jul 26, 2010 10:43 pm

I am so impressed you actually did this. Vinegar Ra was from so long ago.

How could you forget about it? It's in atleast 10 peoples avatars and maybe 30 peoples signatures.

I remember it clearly and thinking "Well this is a boring (not so much boring as weird and unimportant) thread...."
I remember stuff that doesn't matter to me....kinda svcks.

I must have missed the thread completely. Had assumed VRa was an import from an image board or something .

OK, we're allowed to burn heretics at the stake, right? I'm gonna go get the sterno, someone gather sticks. CONFLATING VINEGAR RA WITH IMAGE BOARDS IS CAUSE FOR INSTANT DEATH.

He was the product of the good people on this forum, who brought his secrets to light into the modern world and then made commemorative necklaces.

Also, if I ever play D&D as a paladin, y'all know what I'm gonna be using as my paladin symbol.

Nope, don't blame the site-that-must-not-be-named for this one. Vinegar Ra? is a BGSF original.

Hell, I joined before Defaulted and I have no idea what Vinegar Ra is. But that's because I only started frequenting general recently.

I was around for the thread and I've no fricken clue what Vinegar-Ra is besides a god-like figure they associated with the symbol. I still get confused.

Do any of you "cultists" ( :P ) have a link to that thread? You could at post it an alleviate some confusion among the non-believers.

I remember the thread starting up about seeing the symbol, then I glanced over from time to time. Kinda tapered off from watching it, but I know exactly where Vinegar Ra is from lol.

Also, awesome job on the amulet!

The entire thread is archived in the link in my signature. It's the thread called "Strange symbol."

I really don't know why people don't just link to the archived thread to explain it, it answers the question of what is Vinegar-Ra in a few short pages.

Same here. I'd assumed it had something to do with Defaulted being the "sig-god" but I must have missed the thread....

ENLIGHTEN US DEFAULTED, PROPHET OF VINEGAR RA!

Edit: Just had a look at the thread in Antibody's sig. I actually remember that thread now, but I didn't really follow it much beyond the first few posts. Is the link Expresate posted the symbol in the jewelry?

My god. I have seen the light. It's so.... shiny. :0
And to think that all this time, I was wasting my life trying not to be noticed by the Elder Gods.
Anoint me, oh most wise and excellent prophet, and teach me the enamel-stripping ways of He Who Is Balsamic.

...
I have no vinegar chips, however. Will Ra be satisfied with Sour Cream and Onion, or must I make a trip to the store? >.>

Well, most likely a trip to the store tomorrow would be best.

Or a shot-glass of vinegar.

Also, we'll appease Cthulhu with vinegar chips. We'll save the world.

You know what, guys?
You know what?
That does it.
What does Vinegar Ra look like? Does he look like anything beyond an odd squiggly insignia?

I'ma draw heem. :3

Well, we were thinking of the traditional depiction of Ra, but green.

Because we're not very original.

Meh, I just didn't pay it much attention.

And the Moderators will protect me. They are Dark gods, but they are Powerful gods . Attrebus the Hamster Wrangler; Hungry Donner the Soul-Eater; Rohugh, Keeper Of Knowledge...

We do come up with some interesting religions memes of our own, but when you haven't seen any of the origin stuff, y' don't always pick the natives from the imports .

EDIT: Hmmm, December 2009? Not very old at all.

I actually created a character named Vinegar Ra in Champions Online based on the descriptions people gave in the original thread. :P

If I ever decide to play CO again I'll take a screenshot.

Kind of figured as much.
All right then. I have a vision. A vision of Vinegar Ra in stained glass, bottle in hand, encircled by the symbols of his station: french fries, chicken nuggets, salad, and...
....
And...
Hmmm.
What else goes well with vinegar?

No matter.
Come, self! To the Sketchingmobile! *dramatic!point* : D

So what do you guys think? You like? Does the link even work?
Link works, and you've out done yourself Def :)
It would fit perfect with my 'Disco Stew' outfit -pictures, never to be shown. Use your imagination, m'kay?
And don't knock the Stew, since I do happen to date.. well, I might add :P

The Vinecronomicon.
And in the second sighting of the thread that 'went nowhere' a new prophet stood. A lonely person, with no natural rhythm. One who was proud to wear the medallion, unbutton his shirt to display it proudly and dance, dance, dance....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI0SIg4njx0

Because we're not very original.
I am :)

"And in the beginning, it was told to all, man and woman, child and elderly alike, that too much of the sacred fermentation of ethanol would lead those to screech 'RAAAAAAAA' for hours on end, in agony and pain."
[Andyism 01:01]

"No purging with waters cool and thirst quenching, nor the drinking of milk, or puking ones guts out, shall alleviate this state of being."
[Andyism 01:02]

"It was noted that the eating of spud, sprinkled with saline crystal, and the consumption of the cod, haddock or plaice, mits properly battered, protected the true believer.
And thus the fish and chips saw the light, and it was good."

Hmm, might need an endorsmet if this cult thing is going to take off more. My three nominees are Tom Cruise, Al Gore, or Carrot Top.

This might need to go through a vote.
