Yes but thats a different realm. i'm sure mehrunes dagon wouldn't want Nirnians to mine gunpowder (or its TES equivalent) in his realm.

I don't even think anyone can travel between realms on a whim

Dwemer ruins have already been confirmed and shown in skyrim

EDIT: where have you been?

Not paying attention to Skyrim at all, of course.

And now that I've heard this news, Skyrim is even lower on my list of "games to get" than it was before. Great.

Obviously not that low. youre here in the forums.

I don't see the big deal...Dwemer ruins aren't gonna make the game any worse....

Actually I mostly just come here to read people's ideas and such. I don't give two-[censored] about the game, really.

I can kinda understand them being in Skyrim, sorta. The Rourken might have passed through Skyrim at the time. But still, we've always been lead to believe Dwemer ruins are in Morrowind and Hammerfell only.

that's a peculiar way to spend your free time IMO.

what led you to believe that? I'm just curious really, I'm far from a lore-master.

The Dwemer were pretty much always in Morrowind. But then when the Dwemer decided to make peace with the Chimer, the Rourken clan pitched a hissy fit, and decided to leave. There leader threw his hammer, and they all went to where the hammer fell. Hammerfell (I know, catchy name). I mean, it's not a huge stretch of the imagniation to think that some Rourken dwemer stuck behind in Skyrim, but since we've never heard anything about there being dwemer ruins there before, it's kinda dumb.

They could have been more inventive, like Atmoran ruins, Falmer ruins, or even freakin Saarthal itself!

Explosives? Mmm do not want in my Skyrim.

Do I want other fiery things? Yes. Flaming arrows, lighting crude oil on fire, setting fire to things in general...

A catapult hurling giant, flamey rocks would be cool but that game (Offset) isn't happening and I bet we'll have to wait another chapter or two to take part in a siege in TES.

Thanks for the lesson

Well I believe there are other types of ruins among the dwemer ruins though, possibly including falmer or atmoran.

Crude explosives in TES? Nah.

But I would like to see a 'magic' Barrett .50 Cal Rifle. Im pretty sure that even fits in lore-wise.

This isn't a "OH DERP I WANT GUNS N EXPLOSIVES IN TES I WANT TES TO BE LIEK BLACK OPS" thread. The proposed idea is crude explosives which were already featured in the lore. They may not be to your liking but you don't have to be a dike.

So just stop with all the "OH DERP I WANT TO POST TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING" posts.

In saber's defense, it does get annoying seeing all the ridiculous ideas people come up with. In your opinion its a great idea. In other peoples opinions its a horrible, game ruining addition to the game. Or something in between.

Just as you have the right to post your opinion of what you want added, other people have the right to petition against those ideas in the hope it DOESNT get added.

I kind of wish people would stop posting ideas for Skyrim. Its not that its too late to get added....but we are grinding down here and soon enough it will be. We all have ideas, and there are many people to support them, while there are just as many (or 100 times more) people to disagree. But the fact of the matter is, post ANYTHING online and your asking for people to pick it apart.

Yeah, i like it when people pick my ideas apart with good reasons, but this thread isn't trying to add guns or anything really that COD blackops has, so Saber's comment was unfounded.

This is one of the many ideas I've seen that would be cool -- IF I were playing the right character for it. But to put it in the Vanilla game? At this point, adding the existence of explosives would probably ruin a lot of quests. "Why is Quest-giver X making me do this, when he could just blow Y up?"

In short: wait for the mod.

Fair enough. Honestly, I want to leave game changing elements like this to Bethesda....I mean like some of their changes or not, they are the ones who came up with this gem, and we can all look at what they do and say we would make it better, but at the end of the day they made ES not us. If, and when, explosives are ready for TES, I think we'll see them added.

Otherwise lets just sit back and enjoy the ride. Bethesda has not let me down in the past......Ever.

It's not that ridiculous seeing how they had them in a previous game (and if you read my previous post you'll see I actually don't want them in) I just dislike that he was so rude about it when it had nothing to do with black ops, its crude explosive that they had a form of in the lore, it's not c-effing-4 or guns and I understand that people can voice there opinion against the idea as many clearly have including myself but there isn't any need to be so rude. Do you see every one else being so immature? I know it's futile to expect everyone to be civil but it still gets me going from time to time, quite alot recently, sorry I had to vent.

I've always gone with the argument why develop explosives when you could develop magic (and have been developing magic). I think the only answer would be an all out war by non magicians against the mage's guild or some such equivalent. While I don't think that would fit into the Skyrim mood, it might work for a summerset isle or another reasonably progressive area. Technology would be used to combat the magic. I'm not saying this should be TES6, but that would be one way of bringing technology to nirn.

I don't plan on this thread adding an element to the game (i would have quite a big ego to believe that). I hope crude explosives were added already however. This thread is more like "wouldn't it be cool if?" and "why wouldn't it be?" type thread.

There's always the chance they'd overlook simple explosives and putting this thread raises awareness for it, even if it is only added in the next TES or possibly an expansion

EDIT: or mods... I guess. I'm not too wild about them though as a 360 player.

Yeah in the end they decide what is good for the game not us.
But that doesn't stop us from posting ideas and wishing and hoping someone up there takes notice and says yes this is a good idea we should use this and many give good ideas for mods too if they aren't included in the vanilla game which 99.9% probably aren't.
