Pre order bonuses should be sold on the stores

Post » Fri Aug 26, 2011 5:54 am

Hey shouldnt't we be able to get the caravan pack, mercinary pack, tribal pack, and classic pack, on PSN, XBOX LIVE, and Steam. it would be a great idea and money maker.

Welcome to the forums! Here is a turtle. :turtle:

I don't think it is a good idea because having so much ordinance at such a low level would be overpowered. Though I may be cynical because this question gets repeated so often. There is even one near the bottom of the page.

Isn't there a limit to how much DLC you can have on this game? If I remember correctly it is 6 pieces of DLC including the pre-order stuff. So if you get all 4 DLC games, and all of the pre-order DLC you can still only use 2 of those pre-order items.

I'm not sure, but I think they did raise the amount of DLC you can have, in the last patch, maybe someone else could confirm this.

They updated it so that it can handle all 8. As there are quite a few people on these forums that will have all 8 once LR comes out.

You're right, but it is you who make the decision to use them or not at the beginning... i have the classic pack, but i want the Broad machete as well ;-)

I'd rather they don't. They're called 'Pre-Order Bonus' for a reason.

It's not that much. Certainly helps at the beginning though. Especially the light armor from caravan pack.

But what's the point of keeping people from getting them? Especially when we're so close to the closing chapter of the game.
If they release them they stand to gain if you ask me.

But that completely throws the incentive of BUYING a Pre-Order game if you can just get the game and all of it's add on 'exclusives' at any given time. Besides, if someone REALLY wants the Pre-Orders, they can go on E-Bay or something.

Pre-orders got it a year ago. Sounds like enough incentive to me. I'm not saying they should've placed them on the store on day one. That would be wrong. But after GOTY sounds sensible.

But you're missing the point. If it's a Pre-Order EXCLUSIVE, then you suddenly say 'nvm, let's just release it on the market one day' What's the point of buying a game on Pre-Order if we can get it cheaper than paying the Pre-Order charge?

You get it earlier that's the point. Game prices drop given enough time. That's inevitable.
Oh and I'm allergic to the word "exclusive" since Dead Money. PC gamer here hello.

Lol, you have no reason to complain. I'm PS3, we always get the short end of the stick in terms of releases :cryvaultboy:

In the past I'd said there's no way they will do that, but just now I saw Brink selling they're pre-order packs in pairs for £1.50. So I guess the possibility shouldn't be ruled out anymore...

I pre-ordered at release and got the Caravan Pack. However after this much time I wouldn't be adverse to having the other packs available for DL. After all, I did get to use the items from the Caravan Pack for new characters for a long time and also another perk is that I got it for "free" with the game that I would have bought anyway. I don't think personally that I would purchase any of the other packs but hey! if someone else wants them I say why the heck not!

I half expected this to happen and am not really upset that the people who didn't or couldn't pre order the game can still enjoy the nice stuff that I got for doing so. Not really that big a deal to me and it makes sense from a money standpoint that they would do this.

So yeah congrats guys.

I said this in another thread too but the only people probably really pissed right now are the ones who paid $40-$60 for individual packs on Amazon or Ebay. I lol at them.

Wait a minute... I got New Vegas a few weeks after release, it still had the classic pack bonus in it.

Yeah sometimes the stores will get copies with pre-order codes in it as well but they usually only sell them for a short time before they switch over to the normal version. I know that I've bought tons of games at Walmart that had the pre-order and unlock codes inside and then a month later the games no longer get the pre-order bonus.
