Pre-order cancelled

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 7:18 pm

what would the devs have to show or say that would make you immediately cancel your pre-order

for me it would be a full focus on graphics and none on gameplay and make it a hallway with one set path and no open world exploration and liter it with quick time events so its mostly just one ongoing cutscene

Your title is misleading as it does not imply a question but implies a statement

As for the question it really depends on how much dumbing down they make. If they remove attributes, special, skills, character progression etc I will be very unhappy

Well, I don't pre-order, but if I did then I guess that if I saw Enclave up in full swing, little Harold trees (with harold's face on 'em) grow around the wasteland and a ghoul super mutant then I'd just go "Nope, I'm done, Fallout can piss off, I ain't playing this any longer".

So basically, if they completely ruined the setting and it is clearly visible prior to it being released.

Given that steam has a history of abruptly putting pre orders on sale I'm going to hold of until we at least see what the pre order bundle or ce has

I don't pre order, retailers are very unlikely to run out of copies and digital stores like Steam certainly won't. I think waiting for the first patch is the way to go, there is less chance of your first experience of the game being marred by bugs.

Since it's very likely I'm not pre ordering anyway, it doesn't much matter. If I did, it would likely be upon hearing news that the single player Fallout experience is dead from here on out. In fact, that would stop me from ever playing Fallout again.

That title brings back memories :lmao:

On topic, like i said in another topic, no point in pre-ordering when i buy all my games digitally. But really the only thing would be the paid mods returning with a vengeance. Anything else can be fixed by them :hehe:

Hey, that actually would work to make a man-eating mutant tree enemy

You shouldn't pre-order unless you really need to anyway.

Making it a MMO.

Multiplayer that isn't completely optional and separated from SP.

Microtransactions

Being developed by Ubisoft or EA

I'm picturing little Bonzai trees with high pitched voices.

Fixed-gender protagonist

Removal of S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

Multiplayer other than maybe two-player co-op

A fixed protagonist. I won't buy a roleplaying game that does not offer character creation.

As a huge fan I doubt I could cancel a pre-order, but if they completely mess up the lore (ie 'Aliens did it', like Mothership Zeta), then....nah.

I haven't pre-ordered yet, but if I did I would cancel it if there was no customization.

I might pre-order once i see the demo footage on sunday. I'm sure the game will be great. Seeing as there aren't a lot of other games that have sparked my attention, i need to play something. Can't keep playing the witcher 3 untill TES 6 comes out. Maybe i'd cancel the order if they said it's now an onrails shooter and no longer open world, but i think those chances are pretty slim.

Finding out that what we expect from a Bethesda game has been undermined would not only prevent a pre-order, but would delay the purchase until the price dropped significantly or even cause me to pass altogether. Examples include but aren't limited to:

* Lack of a creation kit or the undermining of the free exchange of mods

* Lack of character creation or a protagonist voice that can't be turned off or modded out without making the game unplayable

* The introduction of Mass Effect style cut-scene dialogue or other 'features' that pulled you out of first person perspective

I didn't pre-order. Which is in itself odd since I couldn't get my hands on Skyrim fast enough (even went to the midnight release ... my first). But so far they haven't shown me anything to make me want to pre-order.

So maybe the question should be, what would they need to show in order for me to pre-order.

However, if they show that everything is simplified for consoles, I will be waiting for a STEAM sale to get the GotY edition while playing other things.

I can't think of anything really apart from all of a sudden the game is linear and not open world, which isnt very likely!
