Pre-Order Map Confirmed to Not Be Cloth : V - Skyrim

I'm not blaming him for anything, i want to know what the hell "heavier material" is. I'm paying for the game and taking the pre-order risk of it svcking. I'd like to know just what exactly i'm getting.

Okay, we know that its a "high-quality material w/ similar feel to burlap" and that it is "not cloth, its a heavier material". Does anyone have any ideas based on what it could be? if it doesn't have cloth in it i simply don't understand how it can feel like cloth. Does anyone know any kind of paper with this feel? And for the love of god burlap/canvas don't count, they are made using cloth fibers.

GStaff said it's burlap paper. I'm putting my faith behind the people that are in charge of it. If you don't want to believe it, then nothing I can say will change your mind, so I'm out of here now. Burlap paper is a mix between paper/cloth which means it's not just "cloth" and it's not just "paper". Since you don't like the answer, the only thing you can do is wait and see.

No, all copies of the game come with a standard paper map. All pre-orders come with the burlap paper (per GStaff) map in addition.

Canvas is made from heavy-duty, stretchy, woven fibers. Its a kind of cloth/fabric.

Woven Fibers = Cloth/Fabric

Grinded Pulp = Paper

Burlap paper isn't cloth it has the same texture that's about it, that's why they said it cloth "like" they never said it's cloth just Burlap paper which isn't cloth it shares characteristic's but they are not the same. Its heavier as in its thicker as in more dense then paper. You will not tear canvas without intending to do so it really durable. @ above "not RAF" There's more then one variant of canvas depending on the type of paints you use each behaves differently with different types of paint.

They NEVER said burlap. It has ALWAYS been burlap paper.

Edit2: On the subject at hand... No, I'm not disappointed at all because having read the original posts concerning this, it was NEVER mentioned to be "burlap". It was always "high grade material with a feel similar to burlap" (first link above) or "burlap paper" (Gstaff's original post).

That's correct. Because we called it a premium map, some 3rd party sites jumped to the conclusion that it's cloth. It's definitely not cloth, but it's the nicest map we've released.

So its Burlap Paper then. Thats great, I was assuming it was gonna be heavy duty paper or laminated paper. Burlap Paper sounds sweet. It will be the best map I have ever gotten w/ a game.

The poll didn't have an option I could choose. When it was first announced, it was said that it was burlap paper. People started saying "cloth" and the media ran with that too. I wasn't expecting cloth...I wish it was...but I wasn't expecting it. I'm sure it's very nice. Maybe it's one that's nice enough to put in a frame like a poster?
