I know that in this forum I have see that people have stated that the pre-orders were just allowed you to unlock things from the beginning and that others could unlock them while playing. But now "...the only way to get that content is to pre-order the game." Just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

That has actually been common knowledge. I don't know who on this forum told you otherwise.

I would've been surprised if the already-glorified name of Brink were tarnished by pre-order gimmicks not being special at all.
