Pre-Orders from Walmart, Amazon, and Steam

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:48 pm

Did you notice how they weren't given anything from the doom and fallout pack? That's cuz their exclusive items. The items from The Psycho and the Spec-ops were in the demo because they aren't exclusive. Its kind of like when cod world at war came out and gamestop was offereing a sniper rifle 30 levels early when you pre-ordered, but in this case it's a few of the in-game items you get early.

However that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it could be really, really hard to unlock some of these items...

How certain are you about this? I was going to get the Spec Ops preorder but it still hasn't appeared in my country yet. The Fallout preorder is the only confirmed one down here, and since it's "exclusive" I might go with it instead...

I'm as sure as I can trust this guys word so about 90% sure. There may be items in the two packs that are exclusive, but for sure most, if not all, will be unlockable.

Perhaps it's worth asking a dev... this is hard haha. Buy Spec Ops and risk missing out on something exclusive, or buy Fallout and risk missing out on Spec Ops...

That's why I'm waiting till the last month till I either order "The Psycho" pack from Amazon or "Doom" Pack from gamestop. What I've been told was from the manager of the specific gamestop, if he lied to me, then I'm sewing :verymad:

I'm confused.. you're .. sewing? sewing what? are you going to rip off your shirt, then have to sew it back together?

Or did you mean Suing? which would imply you are taking legal action? :) Sorry, the grammar nazi in me is rearing it's ugly head. anyway...

I mean, honestly the only pre-order item that I really like are the psycho and spec-ops. but the bonus is, I was thinking of going through amazon anyway. I would never use the fallout or doom items, as I dislike beanies/doo-rags (or bandannas worn on the head), and .. yeah. sooo..

It doesn't really matter. None of the pre-order items are really better than some of the other stuff I've seen that is already in the game. It will just be a cool bonus to have a burlap sack over my head, etc.

I was gonna think of something witty to write about "sewing" too at the time, but I gave up because it's late. <_<

And I figured you may as well get something exclusive if you can, might regret it later. In the Fallout one I guess the beanies and SMG skins are okay... I just really like everything from the Spec Ops pack.

No, that's because the Doom and Fallout packs contain only aesthetic items...

The DLC content will probably become available later on, I'm sure, but I highly doubt it'll work the way you're saying it will.

Either way I'm gonna stick with the Psycho pack. I think the Doom/Fallout items look pretty lame to be honest.

DOOM and Fallout was/is not in becuase they don't offer gameplay changing values, unless that snazzy bandana makes the enemy drop down as soon as they see you, or that the UVC skin (spelling?) gives you more damage

The SpecOps sight is probably a Red Dot sight with a green dot instead, or that there is a green dot and green glass in it, probably just a re-colouring of something already existing, and the gun is in becuase it probably got it's own stats? Same with the Psycho revolver

Hahaha, seriously? So you're gonna believe a store manager when he disses his competitors' preorder packs so he can convince you to order at his store instead of going trough Amazon/D2D/Walmart/Steam?

Really? You're that gullible? (I don't mean to sound disrespectful/trollish, but you have to admit that he can't be trusted in that case...

My reasonning :
Personally, I'd rank the 4 packs in the following order : Psycho, SpecOps, Doom, Fallout

By dissing the first two, he's trying to pull Doom back up to first place and convince me to buy at his store. Simple.

I'm just not buying it, he's not impartial.

I prefer the fallout pack. I don't like ordering online VS big box if I have a choice(although I bought fallout from amazon for obvious reasons)or if it can be avoided at all. UPS is slow wont get here until 9pm the earliest and since I plan on the Xbox version, steam and D2D are out of the question. I hope the psycho pack equipment is available at one time or another(not if I have to pay over 4$ for it) and since it includes actual weapons and not just skins I think it will be. It also made me happy that the fallout pack included the carb 9 skins, that being my favorite weapon.

If you actually got UAC armor, the doom pack would be really cool. But you don't, you get a t-shirt painted to look like UAC armor, which is silly.

The fallout pack is amusing, but not something i want to wear in Brinks gritty world, and the Psyko mask just doesn't do it for me.

So I ordered the Spec-Ops. Even if the gun and attachment aren't exclusive, I have to imagine the mask and tattoo are. I happen to like both the mask and tattoo, so that works for me.

Yeah.. That'd be a dealbreaker :P But I like the shirt too.. But Psycho tattoo and mask is far cooler

Might try to get my hands on the pack some other way, hum.. (DOOM)

I just want the game but if I had to choose a pre-order pack, it would have to be the Fallout pack, I'm a mega Fallout Fan! Those t-shirts looks amazing!

EDIT: The Psycho Grin Mask looks amazing! The UAC armour looks cheap, TBH that whole pack looks cheap... The others are amazing!

And I believe the Psycho and SpecOps pack too are exclusive, and if now ''the [censored] hits the fan'' only the guns and maybe the scope will be avaible to everyone

So saying ''can't be unlocked later'' sure sounds silly, don't you think, Reaver?

The spec ops pack and psycho pack will be unlockable later in the game. That means that the items in those packs will not be "pre-order only" bonuses, but a way to get the items earlier... You may want to pre-order somewere else now...

1)only the ignorant :flamethrower:
2)Like I said some of the item's may be "unique" but I'm 100% sure it won't be all of them
3)I know for a fact that the "green-eye" scope is unlockable
4)"exclusive" just means that you can only get the bonus from pre-ordering here, not elsewere. Does not mean you won't be able to get it.
5) Only the tattoos on the psycho and spec-ops packs are labeled as "unique" meaning you probobly won't get them in-game
6) I've never known a developer to allow only pre-ordering players to use certain guns or attatchments... They 100% sure will be unlockable
7) The body apparel may be unique as their not game changing.
8) Yes, I do trust a manager's word, he may not have said the whole truth, but its not like he can lie about somthing like that.
9)

I wanted to get it from best buy since i like fallout the best but they have a later release date than all the other places. Whats the point of a preorder if you get it a week late?

Remember though, we haven't seen ALL of the Doom Tattoo...it may have that big B.A. Demon spawn on the chest.

Anyone know if I can cancel a Walmart pre-order O-o...? Its not that I'm not going to get it but I may hold off til we can confirm or deny this.

  • Exclusive UAC Marine Body Armor (Security) and Lost Soul Screaming Skull (Resistance) t-shirts, exclusive UAC beanie cap (Security) and DOOM bandana (Resistance)

The "Exclusive" Spec ops Mask (spec-ops pack for Walmart) is clearly seen in the new video at point :53. He's being healed by the medic. Is this proof that indeed these "exclusives" are unlockable later on and not exclusive at all?

And I don't really believe the whole "oh, they have to test the exclusives too" cus you rarely see any exclusive content shown in Trailers prior to launch.
