Pre-Orders from Walmart, Amazon, and Steam

The "Exclusive" Spec ops Mask (spec-ops pack for Walmart) is clearly seen in the new video at point :53. He's being healed by the medic. Is this proof that indeed these "exclusives" are unlockable later on and not exclusive at all?

And I don't really believe the whole "oh, they have to test the exclusives too" cus you rarely see any exclusive content shown in Trailers prior to launch.

They also show the psycho mask, although I don't see how showing off all of the customization proves the content isn't exclusive. I'm not saying its out of the question, I just don't think it provides strong enough evidence to jump to that conclusion

Edit: They also show content from the fallout and doom packs

Ofcourse... they shouldn't be. Locking up content like this, specially for multiplayer, would be a real dike-move. I'm happy if I get to use them before others can. And even happer if otheres have to pay extra for it because I got it free.

So all good with me, even tho I'm gonna pre-order the Psycho in a few days because they just announced the deals for UK.

Proof, please.

The DOOM Pack contains:
  • Unique "Hellspawn" body tattoo
  • Exclusive UAC (Security) and Cacodemon (Resistance) customized skins for the Bulpdaun SMG
  • Exclusive UAC Marine Body Armor (Security) and Lost Soul Screaming Skull (Resistance) t-shirts, exclusive UAC beanie cap (Security) and DOOM bandana (Resistance)

From http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/brink/75113

Honestly I'm surprised you didn't see it... I can't remember exactly which video it is, but it had the green eye scope in it... And common.. Seriously... Do you guys honestly think that the developers would "test" a green-eye scope for balance since it's unique? I mean... common... Use your brain for once plz

I think that as we get closer to release we'll find out more info on the "unlockable items" in the game... Until then I suggest people hold off on pre-orders if there looking to get "unique items" that cannot be unlocked otherwise. If your going to get a pack so that you can have the items early, then that's another story.

3)I know for a fact that the "green-eye" scope is unlockable

6) I've never known a developer to allow only pre-ordering players to use certain guns or attatchments... They 100% sure will be unlockable

How are you so sure? Who've you heard it from?

I've seen in videos some of the pre-order items, however I've also heard that some of the doom pack and fallout pack items are in the video too.

My original source was a manager of gamestop who stated, "only the fallout and doom packs actually have items that you cannot unlock in-game, the other two packs contain items that are unlockable later in the game. I hate when other companies do this, they say that they have some exclusive item, when in reality it's something you get later."

He then went on about how walmart offered 1,500 points in halo reach pre order and how when gamestop first started they would have deals to get items early on in game. He said that when it comes to some companies, they can't get real exclusive items so they make a deal with the developer to allow players to get items early. Its the only way they can attract people into pre-ordering through them rather than some place like gamestop.

Not very, that's why I'm kind of sketchy with it as well. I've never known a manager of gamestop to lie since it could cost them their job... I'm thinking that anything that says "exclusive" means unlockable later in game and anything that says "unique" is pre-order only item.

The only problem with the idea is that both the doom and fallout packs have "exclusive" items like the t-shirt and such... Makes me wonder whats really going on. All I know is that we live in a world of big business men who like to stretch the truth and won't exactly "lie".

I really want the Psycho pack but I'm paranoid about not being able to get and play the game on day one. Same thing thats keeping me from getting the Fallout pack at Best Buy.

From what I've heard both amazon.com and best buy get it late... I honestly suggest pre-ordering from either walmart or gamestop

I have had great luck with Amazon and Best Buy (always day of release). With WalMart I had my worst-ever experience, days late and then preorder bonus even later (and only after I emailed customer service)

Still, my Brink preorders are with WalMart and Amazon ... for the preorder bonuses. I could care less about t-shirts and tatoos, but want all weapons and scopes.

i've only pre-ordered from gamestop. I wanna pre-order from amazon.com so that I can get "they psycho" early, but I'd only do it if I got the game delivered to my door at the stroke of midnight release day... I'll probobly pre-order from gamestop and go to the midnight release...

I think it's just that I'm warming up to the DOOM pack. Not a DOOM but I like the tattoos and shirts and gun skins (except the gray/blue-sh colored one, just seems uninspired).

You can sign up for the Amazon Prime trial and get one-day shipping then cancel the trial right after you place the order.

^too much work. I've decided to order from gamestop unless I find out that the mask is an "unique" item... then I'll pre-order from amazon.

It actually took like no time at all but I hear ya, if gamestop was offering Psycho I'd be all for it. Kinda makes you wonder how Amazon managed to get their hands on that deal but its about time Gamestop got shafted for once. That store is a joke.

I personally like gamestop, it's genious, most of the money they make is by buying used games and selling them back for a higher price. It's good fore everyone, I'd rather sell my year old game for $20 than sell it at a garage sale for $5...

That's exactly the problem, they fist you when it comes to trade ins and then turn around and sell it for a huge profit and then overcharge for their games on top of that. Buncha' crooks and scoundrels.

Can we please get back on topic, now, NOTE this is just speculation on my part and is only based on my logic.

I think that Psycho and spec opps will be unlockable, because they are faction exclusive, meaning that if someone is trying to pick between say "DOOM" and "Spec opps" they might pick "DOOM because you get two different outfits, and that is kinda unfair.
another fact is that the Psycho and spec opps might really show up if the arc was real, this is just personal, but i wouldn't go into battle with a tattoo of vault boy in a lawn chair on my chest
