Un installation of steam will mean all games tied to your steam account will be uninstalled and you will have no access to them. Steam neesd to be installed to access any game with steamworks such as Skyrim. This is regardless if it was bought online, through steam, or a boxed set.

Then you can't play Skyrim. I bought Morrowind through Steam and if i try and launch the .exe (without using Steam) it asks me to login to steam. So if you uninstalled Steam it would most likely uninstall the game.

I suggest the midnight launch. I always have a blast at the midnight launches and there's always loot that gets given away at my gamestop plus they have pizza ordered for customers. My gamestop is really the best. I usually end up going with a couple of my friends and we stand in line and bs until it's time which is sort of a fun experience I guess. Plus you're surrounded by a bunch of other fans of the game!
