Other than you, no one in the game world collects these things.

You just see more of them in this game, because less of them were destroyed in the War.

Me, I am going to toss them around my suite as my character is a smart guy and reads a lot.

No value?!? I carried them around for hours and hours assuming they would be quest or special vendor related. Tiring of that, I then was careful to sell them only to the vendor in Novac so I could retrieve them if they had value.

As soon as I woke up in Doc Mitchell's I started collecting these. An hour or so later I saw 30+ and just figured they weren't worth much anymore :P
