Predict the Metacritic score

Post » Sat Jan 22, 2011 11:37 pm

If the gameplay and SMART system is fun as they seem and they have a flawless release, id like to see a 93-95. If theres a few hiccups here or there then it will probably get an 86-88.

Stole the words right out of my mouth.

I can assure you that those CoD fan boys will rate this game at a 7. Even though it deserves a 9.5-10.0...

Ha. Many of them will rate this game a zero.

Or "What the hell I'm required to use teamwork? This game is just like Battlefield Bad Company"
Na that's just an exaggeration but I could see the whole no one hit kill or explosive thing happening.

I wondered when this would show up...

Haha, i didn't want to say it. I was thinking it though :P

Yea well someone had to do it. It made me sick seeing that the opportunity was passed up so many times so I had to do it.

I'm gonna ignore any ratings the game gets anyway, its their opinion and is normally wrong. I try to ignore ratings for most games before I buy them, I always feel that it changes why i think somehow.

This. Reviews are just one person's thoughts. Metacritic is just a bunch of important people's thoughts.

I'm playing BRINK because of my thoughts. The same thoughts that fell in love with BRINK at first sight.

Hard to predict but I would guess 80 - 85%. People who think 90%+ need a reality check.

Same. Well it was more like second sight. I didn't want it at first. The only reason i want it to get good reviews is so more people join in on the game, for better replayability

I just hope people like IGN won't give it a low score, just because it's not a Call Of Duty title, which they give 9.5's and up.

IGN are sell outs.

My friend once told me that IGN apparently get bribed like companies like Activision to give good reviews. Although this is PURE SPECULATION

Screw IGN. I am pretty sure they DO take bribes. I have never, not ONCE, agreed with a single review or score they have given on a game. On the other hand, G4tv's reviews i like better. I gained respect for them ever since they gave DA2 a bad score (3/5)

But also like some people said, reviews are just peoples opinions. It wont change the fact that im buying this game and that i am already biased towards it although i havent played it :)

I feel like I am the only person in the world who likes X-Play, I watched it way back in like 2005, and that Splinter Cell Bob and Steve thing made me laugh a lot.

Well, if the campaign is well written and plotted and has a good twist, and multiplayer is just drop dead flawless ten it could well be a great game in the 90s. With char. Creation on top of it all, plus graphics, RP elements, etc. Could be amazingly a 9.5 or gifher

"OH GOD! Did you just snap that janitor's neck?"

I couldn't help myself, I'm a fan of X-Play whenever I remember its on. I actually stopped watching, mainly because I'm always either playing on my Xbox, or hanging with my friends. I do however watch Reviews on the Run and mostly disagree with them, or say they're giving too much charity to a game.

Back on topic: I want this game to get good reviews like in the 90s, but being a bit of a pessimist I see this getting a score in the high 70s.

7.5 and up. That's my score on it, it won't dip down to the 6's hopefully.

You're saying that made me think of http://ign64.ign.com/objects/000/000437.html Blasphemer!

Also, aside from the multiple spawn waves in combat, I liked Dragon Age 2. And I say that without Bioware giving me a single cent.

Fallout 3 got a 90+ on Metacritic. So it's not impossible, just highly unlikely.

Fallout 3 was also a much higher profile title, came from a higher profile developer, and was the third entry into an already popular franchise. The hype was immense, considering everyone was expecting (and it pretty much was) Elder Scrolls in a post-apocalyptic world.

A more appropriate game to compare Brink to would be http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/borderlands, which received an 84. An unquestionably good title, but nowhere near as high-profile as the likes of Fallout, Call of Duty, or Halo.

multiplayer focussed games rarely score highly. while brink might be merging single and multiplayer. it's more MP than SP. on top of that it's not THAT cutting edge. when you strip out smart, it's more or less the point between enemy territory and quake wars. i'm sure it'll be fun and i think it's best compared to tf2 rather than codblops or bff4evr with regards to ratings.

so expect 85 tops 70-85 spread.

Yeah, Fallout probably wasn't the best comparison. I think Brink will be great though.
