Predict the Skyrim Metacritic rating

Post » Thu Mar 04, 2010 2:38 am

Predict? 8-9. Maybe a 7. Can't see anything below that. To get a 10 every single reviewer will have to have given it a 100. That's not going to happen.

No game of this magnitude is going to get a 7. Especially since it's sticking to the Elder Scrolls formula.

With that logic, Two Worlds shouldn't either. Yet the PC and XBOX 360 version got a 79 and 76.

Anyone who thinks it will be below 9 is either just flat dumb or is smoking on something strong...

It'll be in the mid to high 9 range... I'm gonna go with a 96.

Right, even though we know absolutely nothing about the game. We'd be stupid to think it would do anything other than cause a video game revolution.

I'm gonna say 96. Nothing can be liked completely by everyone, so it'll be brought down.

10 is impossible at average collection sites.

90 because I dont think it will get a perfect score because I have a feeling that they're going to go back and use more rpg elements which will piss off some reviewers and confuse casual players but it will still be a quality and deep game imo.

If they still used the old engine I would say around 93...
Though since they have a new engine and we don't know if it solves any issues the old one had I would say a hopeful 98 .-.

We can't really comment on that until we see the engine and how ambitiously open the world is

But if it's a new engine and not a "new" Gamebryo then I would assume that there will be bugs just because it's the engine's first outing, so you're probably right.

A game of this scale is always going to have performance issues, no matter the engine. At least in this generation.

I don't think it could be anything less than 80. Or even 90.

I'm going to take a stab at 92, though it will probably be better than Oblivion overall, something is going to skew the reviews just slightly lower.

With gamer mag doing a 14 page layout on it, I think its already a good indication of what they think, so im going with 9 dont see anything less being viable at this point.

Of course the article is a paid advertisemant of the product.... so that would be why.

Keep in mind, the highest score ever was a 98 for GTA 4, no other game has a 98. No matter what you think of GTA 4 and whether it deserves to be the highest, this game will not receive the highest score ever.

I think the max this game will get is a 96, which is shared by a bunch of games including Mass Effect 2, which is still a ridiculously good score and in the top 15 of all time (#6 through #14 all share 96 if you don't count duplicates of multi-platform games in the ranking)

we already know the score it will be 11, because it will be released on 11/11/11 it was announced on december the 11th and 11 months later it will be released

I see no flaws with this statement.

Since this is an Elder Scrolls forum and I'm an Elder Scrolls fan, I'll join teh awsum bandwagon and say mid-90's as well
