I'm very happy about them letting us pre-load. It really helps out us poor saps who have an internet speed of 100 KB/S and wouldn't be able to play the game until a day or so after realease :P

No, because they are confirmed to be used in game. They kept old music and added new, basically. I will probably turn on the ambient music in this game because of how diverse it seems to be.

That is the same exact download speed I am holding steady at. Steam has gotten better and better about not having their servers overloaded during major releases. Their own major releases (Valve) still seem to set off atomic bombs across their server networks.

Yes.

"Halflife 2: Episode 3" = download [censored] storm.

Yeah, they will likely send them out early next week. My Civ V code from D2D was available before launch, too. Just be patient. ^_^

Civ 5's activation key was available on direct2drive on September 18th, 3 days before the game's release. So FO: NV's activation key should be available some time today.

How cool would it be to have FO & FO2 installed on your pip-boy? Having your Vegas guy standing there playing Fallout 1 on his pip would just be too cool. Fallout in a Fallout.

The first two Fallout's featured "silly" credits rolls (can't remember how they were triggered, I think shiftclicking the Credits?) as well, where you'd get fun quotes uttered by the developers during the development process. I guess New Vegas will have those as well.

Wow, i'm pretty surprised how quickly the preload went. 6.9gb in less than 45 minutes. Color me impressed.

Yeah, if you've got a good high-bandwidth internet connection, the Steam servers will usually take full advantage of it. I recently upgraded my internet, and was quite impressed to download DR2 (around 7 Gb) in just over 40 minutes. Highest sustained download rate I've ever experienced.

BRB changing pants. Although, surprisingly small file size. How many gigs FO3 was? I'm used to around 20 gigs games. So I'm glad this isn't that large since my bastard ISP caps my internet usage.

Try changing the download server, if those 147kb/s are not around your maximum bandwidth.
