Premium map with pre-order of Skyrim

Post » Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:28 pm

Please no games for windows live. I thought bethesda learned with fallout 3. fallout new vegas didn't use gfwl.

The edges of the map seem a little ruffled so I think it's cloth. One can only hope.

And again, DROP GFWL!!!

It says games for windows. If it were live the label would be different.

This is what a windows live case looks like

Edited post, I missed that part. Burlap paper sounds good. I guess it makes sense that it wouldn't be as colourful as Morrowind's then.

In some ways I think that's good. Morrowinds is great and all, but it's not so much like a map from the world as this one, where you can believe it was cartographed (word?) in Skyrim.

You guys should totally start hand-burning (or staining, or fading, or blood-drenching) the maps again in true Redguard spirit.

Hold on a minute there... Am I missing out on some sort of awesome behind the scenes Bethesda information? Blood-drenching maps again?!

It is great to know that all retailers will get the Premium map on day 1. I have had it preordered for a while and look forward to seeing the better map.

Hmmm... I remember when games included such things "out of the box".
For example the old Ultimas back in the 80s/90s. There was a high-quality cloth map in the box along with two thick manuals, a trinket and other things... without being a premium or collector's edition...
Ah, those were the days...

Awesome.
I hope this still available when collector's edition comes out...might just end up pre-ordering it right now.

Thanks Gstaff, I will pre-order soon! Now I would have a map next to my Cyrodiil map...and my invisible Morrowind map :sadvaultboy:

That would be cool... but there's a lot more copies of Skyrim shipping than previous games in the series.

We'd probably have to make a decision if we were going to ship hand-burnt maps or a videogame called Skyrim :)

Good thing the Walmart gives you the pre-order incentives anyway so long as I buy it in the first week or so without pre-ordering!

What I would like to know is if this special burlap paper map will also be included in the Collector's Edition (or if that one contains an even more special map) :P

I would pre-order right now, but I'm holding off to wait for the collectors edition. Also, what about pre-ordering a digital version? It's specified that all pre-order customers would receive a premium map, so how would that work for digital customers?

Yes, I love that bethesda releases actual material items instead of DLCs with the preorder game. A burlap map would be awesome, it was actually one of the things I requested with the Collector's Edition. I will probably hang it on my wall.

Ooh- blood-speckled for preorders and CE...

...and an insanely-priced "Ultimate CE" with a map that's...

...wait for it...

Todd's-blood-speckled!

You'd make so much money it would take centuries for someone to top that record.

And once I had that sample, the cloning project could proceed...muahahahaha

The map is nice guys but I'm still holding out on a collectors edition like many others. I hope this map is included or still available because I'll pre-order the CE the first day possible.

This. Although it would be kind of silly if the CE didn't have a special map

I'm gonna wait for the CE and then pre order...

Nice for the people who want a better quality maps. I really don't need it. It's not like I'll be looking at it more than once.
