Preorder Bonus

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 11:51 pm

Inspired by Dragon Age 2's inclusion of a Dead Space oufit I write this thread.

More importantly than do you want one; I ask, if we got one would you like something "in world" or "out world"?

This means would you want something that fits the universe of Skyrim or something like Dead Space's Dragon Age 2 cross over, being "out world"; something that fits in terms of looks but is inspired by something out of the Skyrim universe. We recall Fable 2's Halo suit for instance:
http://gamovr.mx981.com/Magnesium/?post/620

That said, what kind of ideas could you see for each?

EDIT: I'm looking for items to clarify, maps and real world trinkets are great but this topic is meant more for armor or weapons...something wearable or useable in the game.

No pre-order bonuses. But if I had to choose, something lore friendly, so no self promoting EA Dead Space type crossovers.

in world for the possibility of it being dlc to the game extra content in the game is more important to me then me wearing a space suit in Skyrim ( that would be stupid since you can mod it if you wanted to) , but you cant mod bethesda quality quest and content.

Maybe a map of skyrim both in game and out of game? Assuming of course that we wont see the whole map at the start of game?

And Im also assuming that this (thread...) is asking us if we want pre-order bonus for a regular edition, etc...

Though, Im assuming that we might get a map of skyrim (out of game mostly, but in game possibly, you know, if we cant see everything at beginning) for regular edition, and also (<---- those and) like a pocket guide to the empire, or some little knick knacks or something (for a collectors edition/ more expensive edition......) ...

Well...nothing "annouced" yet. Not arguing that point right now though as clearly, there isn't anything on the radar. This is all for speculation and conversation purposes.

I just gotta say, live the picture of Armstrong, lol.

Anyway, I'd take any preorder bonus. As long as it isn't some ridiculous armor that shouldn't exist in Tamriel.

If any in-game items, I'd prefer it to not be from Fallout or whatever other Bethesda game. That's just silly. Though I know you addressed it already, I gotta say that real life trinkets are infinitely more interesting.

I'd rather just have Collector's Edition, out of game bonuses.

In-world without a doubt. If I see a BoS outfit in Skyrim, we'll have trouble.

A free upgrade to the CE edition if we pre-order 6-4 months before the release.

The pre-order bonuses for FNV were great. I ordered early and got better armor and a weapon and some health aids. It was a great way to start the game with a weaker character. They had some mix-ups on when it was downloadable and activated but hopefully that'll be worked out before Skyrim's release. Yes, I'll pre-order when I see the bonuses. I hope Gamestop has good ones because I like going there on release day. :)

And I like your idea Scorch. :D

This. I loved the coin and book from Oblivion, and the Making Of Documentary.

Perhaps a dragon? Or an ELDER SCROLL!!!! :D

I would say not to pre-order bonus. But if they did and it was a spear I think they would have a winner!

This, and if I had to choose both lore-friendly and placed in a suitable location in-game, like the EB helm for Morrowind, so that it doesn't affect game balance. What I really, really don't want is to wear OP promotional items from start to finish, trivializing encounters and turning most loot into vendor trash well before its time.

P.S. The only out-of-game item I really want is a paper map with the detail of Morrowind's. Of course that's not to say that Beth won't come up with Collector's Edition items I don't want only because I've yet to conceive of them. :D

I'm really not a fan of Pre-Order bonus because then I have to plan months ahead.

My personal preference would be to have certain items in a Collector's Edition, rather than in DLC bits and pieces. My Morrowind Ordinator still guards my computer desk.
