JB Hi Fi Preorder Chaos.

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:26 am

Ok I have preordered a PC version of Brink from JB Hi Fi a week or so ago.
The price was 89 dollars - I checked today and it is not 79 dollars.
But they already took 89 from my PayPal, should I contact them or expect them to email me or what?
I'm kinda rawr about it, because it was my sister's hard earn money (Well I will pay her back).

Who the heck is jb hi fi? You should only pre order from safe places that are listed on the brinkthegame website, like walmart, amazon, etc.

JB HI FI are a certified dealer in Australia.
What he is stating is actually a mistake they don't do very often, and is why he's asking the question.

For those uninformed, JB HiFi are an Australia/NZ store. I can vouch for them being legit, they have hundreds of stores across the country and I buy games/music from them often. They're one of down-under's more prominent electronics stores.

@OP Give it a shot, they tend to be very reasonable.

Talk to them first and be nice about it. If that doesn't work, just ask for a refund and buy it again.

You'd best have put one of those backwards-smiley faces in it. Something about them is just precious.

Polite mail is the way forward :)

If you get problems, let me know. I'll prob. know one of the senior execs in their Customer Service / Marketing department you can then hound :D

No harm in trying but I can tell you from experience, unless it is a huge difference in price they generally won't do anything unless you come across a Manager or Supervisor who is having a really good day :)

I have had it happen a couple of times with various items and mixed results but if you get someone not so kind they will usually refer to this out of their T&C's:

6. PRICING
6.1 Prices displayed on the JB Hi-Fi website are subject to change without notice. Prices for items on an order are fixed once your Order has been accepted. Subsequent price changes either up or down will not be retroactively applied to accepted Orders.

Good luck though :D

That's lame. I know MightyApe.co.nz will only charge you the lowest price the game reaches before it's released. They sell stuff relatively cheaply anyway, usually marginally cheaper than usual store retail, and I'm pretty sure they ship to Aussie too.

Mighty Ape won't bill you before the game ships though.

JB Hi Fi do.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to get that extra $10 back from them, at the very least as store credit.

Good point, hadn't pondered it since I've never pre-ordered from there.

It was more a recommendation to the OP, for future reference.
