Preorder Showdown

Post » Sun Aug 22, 2010 2:51 am

Tribal Pack for me, not that I really care either way. I'm ordering from Amazon because EB doesn't want my money (every order I've placed through them in the last year has been canceled, for reasons unknown), and because I had plenty of credit on account at Amazon that took the price of the snazzy collector's edition waaaaaaaaay down.

Personally, I don't want any in-game preorder bonuses. I prefer the old way, where you'd get some little trinket or another. Like a soundtrack CD or a figurine or something.

I'm not getting either since I'll be renting F:NV. Gamefly FTW. Plus, I'm like a teenager so I don't have the funds to keep on purchasing games.

I am a teenager... with a birthday in October, so FO:NV is my birthday present :D
I also pre-ordered it yesterday from gamestop, I want the classic pack!

Aye, and it's ignoring those of us who have the no choice of (insert sarcasm here) let me see, Steam, Steam, Steam or you guessed it Steam, for their choice ??? of pre-order packs, disregarding whether or not they want an actual physical copy of it on the PC. Console wise it's even worse with hrm currently standard edition, or overpriced collectors edition both of which exclude the pre-order packs.

You should be able to preorder from any of them... the physical disks are still there the activation is just steam.

Tribal pack probably has the worst items, but I like the way the re-skinned Blastmaster armor looks for an early game character.

I want Classic or Caravan pack

I wouldn't mind Mercenary pack but the weight of grenades early on could be more of a disadvantage then a advantage

and Tribal never liked raider armor only the weapons would be nice

and you whats funny Amazon as in the Amazon Rainforest has the tribal how cool is that <_<

If I pre-ordered before pre-order bonuses were known to exist for New Vegas, would I still get said bonuses? If so, I will be getting the classic pack.

The Classic Pack so I can get the Vault 13 Canteen.
Even if they have canteens in the game I want that one.
If no other reason but to collect a rare item.

Yes. Although, if you want to be 100% sure, you could always go and ask.

To answer a question posted:

Question: @ChrisAvellone Will the pre-order bonus items help you throughout New Vegas, or just early on? (pre-ordered FNV yesterday) 8^D

Answer: It's an early on push, but the gear is unique, which I think is awesome, especially for the V13 pack.

And 2 questions tied to it, feel free to move elsewhere.

Question: P.S. Are there different scopes for weapon mods? Eg: one scope has a more powerful zoom than another.

Answer: (Thanks to JE "Scope Master" Sawyer for confirmation) Yes, different scopes have different zooms.

Question: Are there any references to you or any other devs in New Vegas?

Answer: No, and we made sure that we did do inside jokes and references like this in FNV - any ones we found we asked to be stripped out.

im a gona be a teenager when it comes out lol by like a month. i have plenty of money. ill probably get the classic because of the canteen it gives at the start since im going in hardcoe normal for my first play through. the caravan shotgun is tempting but since a combat shotgun always = auto [censored] i dont think ill need it.

pre ordered it on steam, lands right on my PC on the day, plus the caravan pack means for once I can play a character without a vault connection shoved down my throat.

I don't find any of the pre-order bonuses particularly compelling. The only one I'm even slightly more interested in than the others is the one that includes some Vault 13 gear, and even that one I can take or leave. I ordered from Amazon because I get free release day shipping from them, so it looks like I'll end up with the Tribal Pack if I even bother to use the code. :P

What if I'm getting the Tribal pack only because it cost me $10 less?

I was happy with getting it from Amazon. They almost always sell their games for $3 less and the shipping is free. The re-skinned Blastmaster Armor doesn't look half bad either.

Does anyone know how the preorder stuff even works? Is it just going to be given to you by the Doctor and if so, does it replace everything else? Will we still get a 9mm pistol and the Vault 21 jumpsuit?
