Preorder: Worth It?

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 5:28 pm

Greetings,

Been awhile since I have posted on here. Got caught up in League of Legends with a few friends and just completely avoided the hype around Elder Scrolls Online. Reasons because when I get fixed on something I study it to no end and it just makes me feel as if time is going to drag on forever until the launch date. I've also been comparing this to Wildstar. Played beta for both, and Wildstar was actually a lot of fun. However, the telegraphs do get old after awhile. Now-a-days I go where my friends go. Doesn't matter which MMO to be honest. I got a few friends that are getting this so I'm curious as to where I should preorder it or not for the perks.

If I do so online, does this mean I'll still be able to pick any race/faction? I'm not going for the Imperial edition. I'll be preordering this on Wednesday, and just wondering if I should drive up to town and do it or online for that bonus perk? Also, how has the beta been? Still bug/glitches?

Thank you, and I bid you all a very well goodnight.

From my understanding you get the explorer's pack perk for ordering digital or physical copy at the store. I say the perks are worth it for the pre-order, since I can play whatever race of the character I want with the alliance I think they would agree with more. But YMMV.

Wont know until I've played the game more, at this point the pre-order appeared worth it enough for me to actually put up the $80

ANY preorder gets the explorer's pack, which gives you the ability to play any race in any alliance.

If you'd like the goodies, then yes.

For me, no; so I didn't pre-order.

You get a mudcrab with the IE, but unfortunately no propane or propane accessories.

For me worth it for the early play. Better chance to get my names.

It all depends. If everybody buys the biggest edition it almost has no value because we are gonna be standing at quests anyway waiting for mobs to spawn. If the 5 first days are filled with server crashes then its a waste also.

However if a small group of people play with the imperial edition, then yes it could be worth it.

I found it already worth it in BETA weekends cos getting the imperial horse for only 100 gold instead of the next cheapest one being 15k gold :D and yeah I'm gonna be even happier about getting it cos of 5 days early access whooooop

If you're going to play the game, there's no reason not to pre-order. There's no extra price, and you get several decent perks. Nothing super special or game-breaking, but the most noticeable perk is you can play with any race on any faction. Only pre-orders have this option, so 6 months down the road, it's going to be a rare sight.

There's no difference in price if you pre-order or buy on the day of launch...

Hey.
You can preorder any edition you will get he preorder perks which include play in any alliance.
Some shops offer IE at 20% off so almost as cheap as SE.
You can also upgrade to IE after release.

Post-launch the Explorer's Pack will cost you separately to get in addition to the base game. So, if you're already determined to play the game, getting it now for free with the pre-order is a no-brainer.

Pre-order is the same price as a day 1 or later purchase.

If you know you want to have this game, you may as well get the pre-order perks. If you want to wait a month or so after launch to watch more content and truly decide if the game is worth it, then don't pre-order.

The only thing that made it worth it to me was being able to pick any race and play with any alliance. If I end up playing the game a long time, I might want this. Since it costs the same (or cheaper with coupon) to pre-order now, then why not?

Not unless you want to play at release, I suspect it will all be free eventually. The 'only' pre order that may have been 'worth' it was the physical edition which has long since been sold out. But with that one you get actual stuff. Whether it is 'worth' it is still subjective. To some the book alone makes it worth it. But the digital and in game stuff is going to be available for the most part anyway, at least the stuff people actually paid extra for.
