while i was doing legion quests, i eventually was sent to kill honthjolf in aharnabi... so i did that, and checked out his "low quality chest"... inside, i found random, crappy loot, as well as a preserved ancient key... no idea what it was for.

so, i decided to click on the key with the console open, and the ID for the key mentions a "fetid dreugh grotto"... what the hell is that?

as far as i can tell, there is NO secrets to this cave, and nothing called "fetid dreugh grotto", unless i missed it somewhere.

whats even stranger, i checked aharnabi out on the UESP wiki, and it doesnt mention this key AT ALL on its page... so what in the world is this key used for?

i hope someone answers soon, its driving me crazy...

There is actually two places where you can find this key. Aharnabi and Punammu each have a chest with this key.
But... the key does nothing. It unlocks nothing and is not associated with any secret.

Probably just an object that was forgotten by Bethesda, or meant to be part of some quest that never made it into the final game.

edit: The key's ID is "key_fetid_dreugh_grotto" but like I said... it doesn't connect to any grotto or anything.

oh, well thanks for clearing that up... guess i'll just store the key in my small chest full of keys in ahnassi's house.
