So... Prestigeing your skills

Post » Tue Apr 09, 2013 1:41 am

My friend borrowed my Skyrim so there is no way I can check on this now, that's why I posted this topic :)

So I understood you could reset an entire skill tree and make it legendary, losing all your perks and having to level up the skill again!

I have a question : Does it have a further use than to just start all over and freshen the experience by reinstoring progress ? Does it actually increase the level cap ? Can we get multiple levels of legendary ?

Thank you for your answers and most of all, your time :)

And does it make any real difference ? Is there incentive to actually reset your skill ?

So, you get a skill to 100 and then it resets? You lose all your perks and get to do over?

If you lose the perks, what's the... point? Am I the only one to find that a bit worthless? How does this actually work?

More perks, extra health, stamina and magicka, more levels and harder enemies.

you lose perks and are given the perk points back.
you then level that skill again, buy perks again and still have more left over.

You get your skill to 100 and make it 'legendary'. The skill returns to level 15, and you lose all perks in the tree - but you can still use the perk points. You'll also earn new perk points as you level up that skill again, just like when you level normally. So essentially, you have a never ending supply of perk points. That's why I'm interested in legendary skills.

I guess that's the difference between Legendary skills and 'prestiging'. Legendary skills have a point ;)

More levels.

For example, I have a level 53 and 65. Neither are spellcasters so edging out any further levels is either counter productive or impossible (Respectively).
Resetting skills at 100 allows me to get a few more levels, which in turn gives me health, stamina, or if I wish to change up my playstyle for any reason, magicka.

So, if I get my skill up to 100 it resets the tree but gives me my perk points back? I can then assign the points back to that tree, but as I continue to level up the skill itself I get extra perks points to spen as i wish, per level up, yes?
