Hello all,

I happen to have a very odd issue that is really halting game progress. Now I know most people complain about the radiant quest loop given by Preston Garvey, however, my situation seems to be quite the opposite. As soon as I retake the castle and do one more radiant quest he seems to stop giving them altogether. The only options I get with him is "How are you feeling/Barter/Come with me/ and "Nothing else". This is quite a serious issue with me because I used his quests to max affinity with piper/codsworth/himself/hancock/deacon and curie. This is now literally difficult to impossible to accomplish because of this bug. Even when I finish "Greygarden", "Returning the favor" and other quests from Radio freedom it no longer says "return to Preston". it just completes. Also, radio Freedom seems to think nothing is going on in the commonwealth as well. I'm at a loss. If anyone has any insight, advice, or help it would be greatly appreciated, especially since this is quite gamebreaking for me. Thanks for reading.

All i can say is that after installing the beta update which has now gone live, for my current game, (I have finished the main game), radio Freedom and Preston quests dwindled away.

On the beta i got the occasional request directly from a settler whilst visiting settlements and a reduced number of help defend the settlement quest notifications.

However the number of random attack encounters at settlements seemed to pick up a bit.

Not sure if that's my imagination, though, because my Commonwealth has turned rather peaceful with the settlers doing all the defending for themselves.

Then I can repeat, I have already stated before the beta went official version, there is something wrong with the MM radiant. Radio guy or Preston will not give anymore quests whatsoever. I have tried everything, I have been in all settlements and none needs help. How many weeks in_game I have to wait/sleep...... The Institute and BoS seems ok. Only official I have seen due to this is readme from beta: "Fixed an issue with Minutemen quests repeating improperly". Well, fixed something that is not broken and there are no more MM radiants. MM radiant quests should be changed so you need to speak to radio guy or Preston to get these quests enabled, like the other radiant quests, you have to ask if something needs to be done.

Players have been complaining about Preston/Radio guy gives too often radiant quests;

1) Get quest from Preston/Radio guy, "settlements in trouble"

2) Go to settlement and speak to settler, get spesific quest from settler.

3) Finish quest and return to settler.

4) To be able to get xp you need to talk to Preston again. Preston and radio/guy will give another quest, settlements in trouble.

As long as you did the quest and report back to settler, it seems like there is no timer for you to return back to Preston again. If you don't like MM radiants, then do not speak to Preston again. The mission have been done and you don't need to be afraid of failing. I have been waiting/sleeping in several weeks for test and none quests failed.

So, if I understand Bethesda idea of quest fix; Preston/radio guy gives these quests at the beginning of doing MM questlines to be able to enable workbench, "another settlement want to join MM", you get your own settlement. So, if you have done all settlements, the MM radiant quests no more excists(?). Another word; settlements do not need any help from MM(?). Well, if so, you cannot call it radiant quests then, because understanding with radiant quests, they "repeats", not do_once thing. Well, I have unlocked every possible settlements (except some may belongs to the MQ last part), so where are the "real" radiant quests.....

That is nice to know. Though I`m pretty sure I got a failed quest when I did not report back to Preston. I used a save to fix it. May be it was a glitch or it depends of the type of the quest ( Preston gives different types ).

sometimes there is a lure from preston. went and did other things. came back a day or two later, bumped into him and he give me another quest.

Radiant quest doesn't need to be from Preston/Freedom Radio. They're just the middle men.

Try visiting your settlements. See if there's someone who needs your help.

So, the result is this; The radio guy and Preston gives quests only if any settlement/settler needs help. None settler needs help, none word from MM. We're using wrong term me thinks. Players and wiki sites. MM do not gives radiant quests, they are "misc". Radiant quests repeats without any end. MM settlements in trouble do repeats until you have unlocked every settlements and it stopps. You cannot call it radiant quests. Bethesda PR dept. too quiet sometimes. One decent word and we haven't need to post so much about the MM quests. The radio guy should also stop sending/radio broadcast, "keep update"... there will be no update from MM it seems.
