I've got the Loveable achievement but Preston doesn't seem to want to consummate his love. (I've done about 20 radiant settlement quests since getting said achievement, but no "fade to black" conversation. Am I doing something wrong or does he just need whatever passes for Viagra in the Wasteland?)

Anyway, this isn't actually a rant about how sixually frustrated my Nora is getting... rather it's the immersion breaking "romance". Idk if it's the same with all companions, but whenever I talk to Preston it still sounds like General & subordinate, with the occasional "promise me you'll be careful, babe" thrown in. Cute, but... not enough. The Chat options are so limited that half the time it's like talking to a stranger who can't think of anything else to say.

And this is supposed to be a relationship, damn it... I can't even embrace or kiss my romantic companion? Geez Louise.

Incidentally, are there any other male companions one can have a romance with? I only know of Preston.

Male romanceable companions. There's two guys in Goodneighbor, one of them's a rather charismatic Ghoul and the other is a merc down on his luck. You might really like the Merc, but I personally love the Ghoul. Then there's a Paladin companion in the Brotherhood of Steel, but he's even more serious than Preston. Take your pick.

Danse is hot though, so even if he's a maniacal villain, people would still pain him in a good light. Good looking people always get a free pass.

I think we can't do those things like kissing or hugging is because you can change your body size and shape, so it would look weird like your LI digs through your body if you have bigger size body or they're hugging air. It's just a clipping neighbor to add those scenes. I wouldn't mind if they have stuck with just one body type, all the playthough so far always use the thin or muscular frame.

Nah, they say cute things and you get a better version of the Well Rested bonus. I like to think it varies from six to just cuddling... either that or I'm taking hour-long breaks from killing raiders or exploring dangerous ruins for a romp with Hancock.

Is there a reason why Deacon is not romanceable? I'm not a fan of him and I can't stand the Railroad, but I wouldn't mind having him as a LI option since I see a lot of interests for him.

I thought you could romance deacon, most of his comments are borderline advances anyway but than again I'm a little iffy about being with someone who changes his face every year, what if it falls off?

You can't, it's surprising as well since he's a human, and Bethesda did say all humans are romanceable. He reminded me a lot of Johnny Cage. Maybe he could be an option in the future.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, both mechanically and from an RP view. My character has romanced him. When I sleep in Sanctuary (where he's stationed), the screen fades to black and when I wake up, he's close by saying something like, "that was nice" or "good morning sleepy head". Also, whenever I'm walking around Sanctuary, he'll say things like "hey babe" or "nice to have you close". Is that not happening or are you just wanting more? Honestly, if you're wanting more, just wait until loverslab gets a hold of the GECK...

I don't mind Loverslab, but I wish there is an option in between which has more romantic vibe to it with background music rather than go straight to humping. porm is all over the internet, what I need is more romantic scenes like embracing.

I've never had anything more than staring at the mattress while the hours count off, same as when Valentine and Dogmeat were my companions, other than Preston sometimes appearing on the bed as I wake up, saying "good morning sleepyhead".
