I just got back from gamestop where I picked up Fallout 3, New Vegas, and DA:O. I'm just curious as to if Its alright to do hardcoe mode right from the start? I haven't played it in a long while, but I really want to do a hardcoe playthrough. Should I do a normal playthrough first or jump right into it?

Yes. Do hardcoe mode. It makes the game more fun in a challenging way. It doesn't make it super hard to play as the name might suggest, but it does make you think about your inventory since ammo has weight and therefore you can't be a walking arsenal able to arm a small army. Stimpaks and sleeping don't heal crippled body parts. You also need to sleep, eat and drink to get the best performance out of your character.
