Pricing of Fallout 4 PipBoy edition in Europe

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:42 pm

Hello Guys,

I am wondering what are the prices for Fallout 4 Pip Boy edition in other European countries.

I know in US it costs 119$ and in UK it was 99.9 Pounds wasn't it? How was the price in EUR?

The reason I am asking is, because in Czech Republic the distributor asked price for 3999 CZK originally ( +- 160$ / 140 EUR) but now after they taken all the pre-orders they claim the cost has increased so they e-mailed all the peope who have pre-ordered it now costs 5499 CZK ( +- 220$).

This obviously rizen lots of angry inquiries from the customers on social media as this kind of price crosses the limit they can spend on such a game. (especially because here the salaries are times lower than abroad)

It almost looks like someone has realized the rarity of this item and is trying to earn easy cash on this.

I would like to know then, is this only case here in CZ, or did this happen to anyone in other countries? Especially other regions that Cenega Czech was distributing to (I think it is connected especially to Poland, Russia etc...).

I don't think there is anything we can do about it here. Unles letting the collectors edition go.
Mind you the normal edition price is comparable to the rest of Europe (42 EUR in shops for PC).

Funny is, if I knew that before I would have ordred it from UK and saved even from the original price distributed here postage included!

Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition here in Sweden seem to be 1499kr, which is about $180 USD or €160 euros. As far as I know, no store here raised their price.

That does seem to be quite high too, but at least you knew what you are getting from the start...

I am strongly thinking about getting a mold of the pip boy instead and finishing it myself.

Meanwhile I got replies from two other shops. One confirmed the price increase, the other one (oddly enought the biggest in CZ) has no info about it yet.

Also Cenega Czech has responded on FB about he price increase.

"Dobry den, omlouváme se za změnu ceny. 5499 je oficiální doporu?ená cena. 3999 byla jen p?edbě?ně odhadovaná cena."

They appologise and say it is an official recommended price and that 3999 was an estimated price. I wonder by whom? Really strange.

The PipBoy edition isn't available in Poland. I don't know when it will be, if at all. Cenega didn't answer questions on their FB profile.

Seriously, this is just wrong. It would be cheaper for me to buy it in UK or France, fly there, pick it up and fly back...If I knew the price was going to be this high from the start, I would pre-order it from UK and have it send to my brother who lives there but no, I thought it would be the same in our country, how wrong was I. :D

Exactly my thoughts. With free EU market you can choose where to order from. I chose to support local distribution, but instead they slaped me in the face for it...

I hope Bethesda could atleast inquire what is going on with these insane price differences among distributors. Especially if it concerns one EU marketplace.

And I would not even wonder, but the standard editions are just almost the same price as anywhere in Europe.

Well that is lovely too (that thing with best buy) :D that is one of the reasons why I'm scared for my order too, because some of our distributors don't even know how many of these editions will they get, so it might happen as well that they will prioritize people who orderded sooner..but seriously, it is so damm expensive that I could almost buy a new console.

So they are gonna sell them again at Game.co.uk. I guess I'll try to grab one there if possible. Free Euro market FTW!

Opportunist scum can't really be avoided with physical goods without some extreme measures. It's sad.

I sent an email to Cenega a few days ago about that (and about polish language in game) and I've got an answer that they really want to have some Pip-Boys for sale but they haven't got 100% information from Bethesda. I guess they just oversleep the chance to have some of collector's edition of Fallout 4, but I would like to be wrong.

No it really can't. I have had my favourite artist limited editions albums sold out to price gauging bastards before. Nothing new. The only thing you can as publisher do is to limit the copies to 1 or 2 per account. And even then it is not 100% bullet proof.

150 Euros in Ireland anyway and for the normal edition it's 75 euro. [censored] ridiculous imo.

There is a guy on here who said his UK order has been cancelled by GAME because he isn't a UK customer so you couldn't even do that. :(

Your Pip-Boy prices see way over the top to me. Did they say why it has increased?

Yeah, they said 3999 CZK (105 GBP) was an estimated price and the 5499 CZK (145 GBP) is a final officially recommended price. Officially by whom I do not know. This was a message from the Czech distributor (Cenega).

It is strange though. Right now Game.co.uk I made an order with the option of international shipping and all info filled in and it let me. Except the payment failed if I selected paypal or Visa. Well that is an issue of the website of course so just FYI. :P

Game UK is quite clear about order quantity and shipping.

I'll quote it here:

"Can I order the Pip-Boy Edition internationally?

The weight of the Pip Boy Edition exceeds 1kg and thus cannot be shipped internationally. Any orders for this to an international shipping address will be subsequently cancelled. Orders must be sent to a valid UK Shipping Address, and cannot be shipped to a mail forwarding address or a P.O Box. This information can be seen in our Terms and Conditions that are agreed to upon placing an order with GAME.

How many Pip-Boy Edition's can be ordered at one time?

Due to the strict availability of these editions, orders on or after Friday 3rd July will be limited to one-per-order and any orders after this date containing more than one Pip-Boy Edition will be subsequently cancelled. Orders prior to this date containing several or many Pip-Boy Editions will be reviewed."

It's ~118E in Bulgaria but chances are they won't actually have this edition at all, they scammed us with Witcher 3 and ESO too, taken our preorders and then said sorry, the distributer doesn't ship this product to Bulgaria. No $it, Sherlock, you could have told us earlier now it's gone everywherre.

The Pip-Boy order was cancelled due to the Game's CE postage limitation on parcel size which have to be less than 1kg apparently (which I had never heard of before). This was bonkers anyway because he wanted his parcel shipped to friends in Leeds who would have reposted it to Europe.

In the GAME fine print is this little bombshell...

They could decide that they don't want to deliver to countries with the letter "A" in the title and would be well within their legal reasoning.

Terry Pratchett said it best regarding legal crap like this... This was about Crowley (who is a Demon) who really liked how the human legal departments for computer manufacturers ensured that their clients couldn't be prosecuted for anything....

But I don't udnerstand right. If they don't allow the pip boy edition to be shipped why in the hell they do not tell you when you actually select your address? You select your country and then it lets you proceed with payment... Certainly something they could improve. But This is another issue and I will not be getting back to this as I won't be ordering it from there. (And as mentioned above it is not possbile anyway)

PS: Funny thing I had no problem ordering a 20KG reel to reel machine from Netherlands. :D

Have a look at the Fallout 4 page on Game then look all the way to the bottom with the Q&A section...

Yes, thanks NeoMorph I saw that. I was discussing the technicality of blocking the order itself based on selected country in shipping. I am well aware of this quote you posted earlier. Thanks though. It is Games.co.uk problem though so no need to dig further into it.
