Pricing of the game on Steam, seriously? 49.99拢=78$...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 5:50 pm

I agree that it is expensive relative to other products. But a product is worth what people will pay for it. As for fallout 4 - I would sell my left kidney for it if I had to :P

The war-engine in Mad Max fury road = my current hype train.

I agree that if any game is worth 拢50 it's Fallout or TES, is strange that the price doesn't match a physical purchase though.

beth games are about the only games worth buying. witcher and dragon age have been the exceptions.

with that said, if Beth continues down this path of dumbing their games down, they will be replaced. the Witcher is hot on their tail, if they just work out how to release a modding kit, its all over for beth dummies. they can have the COD dudebro crowd. I'm sure they are thinking about making every thing touch screen next gen.

with BLOPS 3 coming out in same month i hard to believe any portion of that fanbase (that hasn't already) is gonna jump ship for fallout 4 just saying probably wouldn't even notice its out .

I've got to believe there's some sort of weirdness going on beyond "Beth/Valve did it!", due to the fact that the price difference between digital & retail is different in different countries.

re: "hur hur, dumbed down, CoD, dubebros, hur hur"...... don't you guys ever get tired of beating that drum? And even if any of it were true, the genre & playerbase of CoD & Beth games are entirely different - CoD barely has a single-player story anymore (and it's an utterly linear experience) with the vast majority of effort going into competitive team multiplayer. Something that Beth fans seem to have no interest in, and that Beth games have absolutely 0% of.

As for Witcher 3..... meh. Even mods wouldn't make me care about it. Geralt does nothing for me, I was barely able to drag myself through the first game. Just having "open world" and lots of sidequests doesn't make it a replacement for TES.

Again... the price in Brazil is not by Bethesda. Moacyr Alves is most likely the one who made the price for FO4 in brazil. Complex story it seems.

... Either I'm wrong or the people commenting are wrong..

I'm pretty sure... this has to do with VAT / TAX costs.. and not the company them selves

Really? Both Fallout and Witcher are different ends of the roleplaying spectrum. The former is set in a post apocayptic setting, the other set in a Dark Fantasy settting bound by a heavy deal of politics and foreshadowing TO an Ice age apocalpyse for the setting. Whilst people will definetly play both I have a feeling that their fan base are probably quite far apart.

Also Im not sure where next they can go with the Witcher. Geralt is starting to look a bit old and tired (and that is commented in game several times) and the Witcher lines appear to be dying out. Unless they introduce a new Witcher or the like, I dont see a lot of life left in that Franchise.

Fallout on the other hand has a different more rabid fanbase. And its a setting that has many different angles as places were affected differently.

Both games/series are good.

If it were just taxes... why is Fallout 4 the only game with such a high price?

Moacyr Alves represents Bethesda in Brazil but the price was aproved by Bethesda and Bethesda did nothing so far to fix it so they are to blame also on thys and there is no hight taxes for digital products in Brazil only for physical copys.

Why did you know the price was aproved by Bethesda and not Moacyr Alves? And how could we know that Bethesda don't try to do something? Seems like an internal problem that shouldn't be fight on the medias.

First thys issue is going on for a long time and Bethesda is awhere of thys issue and the only oficial news is that the price is that and there is no error.

So Bethesda clearly have aproved thys abusive price.
