[RELz] RI Primary Needs / Simple Needs DUI Plugin

Post » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:14 am

Folks who are already using both DUI and FWE already have this capability... but what about those of us running DUI without FWE?

This is just a simple mod to allow users of either RI Primary Needs or Simple Needs to tie into the same DUI settings - removing the need to open your PipBoy to check on how hungry/thirsty/tired you are.

Download at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11329

NOTE: This mod requires FOSE, in addition to DUI and either RI Primary Needs, or Simple Needs.

Name: RI Primary Needs / Simple Needs DarnUI Plugin
Author: Dark Uncle
Version: 1.0
Date: 2/20/2010
Cateogry: User Interfaces
Link: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11329

===============
Description:
===============

A simple plugin to enable display of your "needs" status (hunger/thirst/sleep) on the HUD in DarNified UI - specifically for users of

RI Primary Needs (PN) or Simple Needs (SN).

Note: This plugin does not add or alter any "needs" functionality. It ONLY adds the current status to you HUD. DUI (DarNified UI)

already works with FWE to do this, but some people run PN or SN by themselves and still want to have the same display capability.

===============
Details:
===============

There are two esp files in the zip -- only run one. Obviously, the one that goes with whichever needs mod you are already running.

Also note that the displayed percentages may seem to jump in odd increments, or otherwise show a little bit of "wonky" behavior. This

has nothing to do with this mod, but rather how the needs mod itself tracks things behind the scenes. Realize that the numbers you are

seeing were not originally designed to ever be seen by the use like this. It may seem strange at first, but you should get used to it

fairly quickly.

===============
Requirements:
===============

Fallout 3 Patch 1.7 (I have not, nor do I plan to, test with any earlier patch)

FOSE (I always suggest running the latest version)
http://fose.silverlock.org

DarNified UI F3 (you MUST be running the Alpha 11 version or later)
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1063937

...And either...

RI Primary Needs (specifically RI_Core.esm -- developed and tested with version 2.0.3)
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2125

OR

Simple Needs (specifically SimpleNeeds.esm -- developed and tested with version 4.5)
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3769

===============
Install:
===============

1. Extract the files from the archive.
2. Copy files to (install folder)\Fallout 3\Data\
3. Start Fallout 3 Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the appropriate .esp file (only one of them).
4. Make sure that the .esp is later than the "Needs" .esm file in your load order.

===============
Un-Install:
===============

1. Start Fallout 3 Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file.
2. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod.

To busy to try it all at the moment. So both "Needs" mods will have bars on the player screen showing, hunger/thirst/tired?

Do each of those needs mods do the same thing?

Have yet to install any of them.

Take a look at the screenshot posted on the nexus page -- that part circled in red is what will appear with this mod, for either Primary Needs or Simple Needs.

They both do the same basic thing, just approach it a bit differently. Primary Needs is a bit more complex and places a few more demands on the player (ie, you have to be a bit more "on top of" when you've last eaten/drunk/slept, in order to avoid penalties), while Simple Needs adds the same "needs" but isn't quite as restrictive (have to eat less often, etc).

I have played with both at times, and either makes a good addition to a Fallout experience IMO.

lol, sorry if I confused you.

I had written that when several of my requests were up around the same thread as this. Nile on the nexus has a body mesh with a female that has more um....feminine features. Or rather a big butt lol

I wanted the nvde version and I finally got a hold of one. I was half halfheartedly ranting about it at the time. I wanted it BAD !! >_<

Incidentally if anyone wants the mesh/textures you can get them by going to the nexus and looking up female enhance for the "FEM" mod. Its under the files section.

Its a lesser quality texture to be honest. But I'm happy females look like they are female and not guys with boobs =/
