Primative Grenades

I worry about primitive grenades and that is if it upsets the balance of the game, I don't want to be in a dungeon and then *bam!* death by grenade.

Gonna go ahead and say no thanks. I realize that it's not making TES CoD, but I don't see the point in adding things like this into TES.

It sounds reasonable. But why would you want grenades in TES?

I don't want grenades. I'm apathetic towards the idea.

Am I the only one that thinks that while plausible, it just doesn't sound right? While you're at it, throw in some M.A.T.S (Magicka Assisted Targeting System).

As a side note, I would absolutely love to be able to throw poisons....

Edit: And by grenades, I mean any sort of explosive device that is thrown, I know it wouldn't be a frag grenade. :)

I don't get your sarcasm w/ "MATS." How does throwing an object turn TES into a FPS? In fact, when you have your bow out, it is a LOT like a FPS. But I don't hear a lot of whining about that system. Why doesn't the FPS bow/arrow system bring up this issue? Or the FPS way that fireballs are thrown.

It's not introducing a huge new gameplay concept. Everything is there.

It seems like the term "grenade" is throwing a lot of people off to this concept.

I think of Fallout as a post-apocalyptic open-world RPG, not an FPS.... I didn't say anything about FPSs, and I have seen a lot people express their dislike for V.A.T.S. I just meant I don't want TES turning into Fallout, which is a great game, but hopefully the two shall never meet. :)

Edit: And I quoted you because it seems like a lot of people are trying to figure out ways to fit grenades/explosive contraptions into the TES universe, as if they really, really, wanted them to be in the game, and I personally think that that is ridiculous.

Magic Staffs work like guns in Oblivion and seems will continue to work in thats way in Skyrim, so if we already have "magical gun" why not add some Alchemical Grenades also?
About M.A.T.S (Magicka Assisted Targeting System). there is confirmed slowing time dragon shout. :teehee:

The term grenade is very old. As for a grenade like device in elder scrolls...prolly wouldnt be fully nade like but I would expect now that alchemy is stealth to see some flingable non flask none bottle alchemy devices such as alchemy traps and mines and such.

You know what else is in Assassin's Creed? Swords.

Don't decide against something purely because another somewhat different game has it.

Just because you are silenced, enemy have large magic resistance and you are [censored] Batman brutal warrior who isn't study Art of Magic half of his life.
From other side you cant create new spells and I believe they cannot be purchased in shops anymore, as Mage you can learn it and conjure but not create.
