Yes. You never hear of a guy going into battle with two crossbows, a longbow, a spear, a claymore, a battleaxe, two war axes, a shortsword, and a kite shield because it just never happened. That's like carrying a donkey on your back into battle.

I'm just asking that you keep him within realistic and humanly limits.
Hmm... I don't think I'd like to try doing that. Davian Hawkstar's supposed to be one of those over-the-top Legendary heroes with outlandish claims to his name that are absolutely incredible and unbelieveable, until you actually meet him, and confirms that, yes, he can fight effectively while a Spear, Longbow, Two Crossbows, a Claymore, A battleaxe, two waraxes, a flail, shortsword, kite shield, and a Donkey on his back (Okay, so maybe the donkey's an exaggeration, but he does carry a large number of weapons).

The biggest problem with the original Davian Hawkstar were twofold - He was too young to have the prowess I gave him (However, he does inherit that reputation.) And, the situation played strictly to his strengths.

I've chosen to go for "Balance" over "Believability" - Yes, he's pretty much unparalleled in martial prowess. However, he also has several limitations:
He can only be in one place at any given time - and he prefers it when that One Place is in some Gods-forsaken crypt or long-abandoned fortress. Though it's usually stuck behind a damned desk.
While he's a renowned hero, he's not a notable leader, politician, strategist, tactician, or even dinner guest (He's great fun at pubs, though.)

I'm also working on character sheets for his Son and Undead Uncle, to further flesh out and demonstrate how Davian Hawkstar works.

I'm 100% unsure if this would fit into the RP: But I could be the captain of a merchants ship, or pirate ship, or something similar. Any coast-cities could be visited by me and I could either be a good guy or a bad guy that will eventually be killed in a grand battle, whichever suits the RPs purpose best. What does the game-master say?
(if you are looking for more players)

If this idea doesn't fit in at all, do tell me what would

Edit: Northpoint and Sharnhelm want to focus on peace? So perhaps I could be an ex-pirate who now is the leader of a 200 crew big breton battle-ship, in service of the King of Northpoint (Jagen H'ghar)?

I have to agree that I'm quite looking forward to Camaron and Syllawen's meeting, that should induce some eye-rollery from the more serious of the rulers. :P It did strike me that Camaron's introduction was perhaps a bit too similar to Syll's, but I'm glad I suceeded in making it different enough to be enjoyable. They are quite similar characters after all, at least in how the majority of High Rock perceives them.

And on the subject of fluff, since I'm too lazy to create anything comprehensive and long, I decided to just make a sort of Daggerfall codex that puts a bit of detail behind things mentioned only in passing in my posts that might have some significance.

Although unrealistic I would like the Grand Duke of Shornhelm to be the King, would anyone have any problems with this?

I'm King of Northpoint ... I'd imagine I should have a problem with that :P

I do like that rather a lot. How about a Sir Francis Drake sort of character? A master of the sea who is effectively a pirate, but is bought off to be in charge of one of the navies of High Rock's great powers. I get the feeling Wayrest already has a proud naval tradition, though this again is difficult to place. Elysana is exactly the kind of monarch who would employ a pirate as her Admiral. Do you see your guy as more Iliac-based, or in the Sea of Ghosts?

That's a good technique. I have a timeline of important dates in Syllawen's lifetime (She was born the same year as the agent of Daggerfall don't you know?! CONSPIRACY!!! Actually s/he was a friend of Uriel Septim, and there is only ONE way that could've happened so...ew, no.). The more I get into the fluff (there is almost zero written on Evermore) the more ideas I keep getting. If no-one minds I might publish an anthropological study of Evermore sometime soon..

Syllawen and Camaron are a bit similar. What is interesting is my guess is they would actually get on rather well. Syllawen isn't quite as much of a fool as everyone takes her to be (she is a Direnni after all), but she isn't putting on any kind of fa?ade either. She simply has no interest in political matters whatsoever. She wants to get high and write poetry with nymphs. Who can blame her, I guess?

Sounds good, I like it. We need more than just lords and princes in this RP to make it interesting.

I'm sure once we hit our swing some of us lordlings will create second characters, personally I have ideas for a few but I just need to see how the feast plays out.

County Urvaius is going to turn into a furious ball of nothing, Arniel would never turn to killing someone, he would deal with you another way, something more painful if necessary.

Just finished reading the posts. What a belly full of feudalism. I am pleased that, considering this RP is meant to be based on a HBO series, we so have have been keeping the six-quota up. One naked pillow fight, six scantily clad prosttutes and an intimate scene with a young Lord and a serving girl (complete with climix and bottom-slap).

Actually, one thing has occurred that does separate Syllawen from the rest. Mostly on account of being a woman, she is probably the least misogynistic character we have. By this I mean while the male lords like to dally about with prosttutes and blushing servant-girls, Queen Syllawen's lovers are far more high-brow. Poets, rouges and philosophers from across the seas and mountains. What I'm saying is while Syllawen is the only one who, instead of showing off her competence at Court in all her posts, will be paraded about in her ineptitude: she does get the best pillow-talk out of anyone in the RP. You have to give her that.

Varth would either kill Arneil, or flee before any such measures can be accomplished.

Remember how the gods punished Loki? Varth could expect something equally pleasant. ;)

Quick question, other than Gavril and I, how many of you guys are European?

Mate, that doesn't count. Everyone's limited that way.

You forgot one naked discussion of matters of state. That's right, Camaron was completely uncovered up until the part where he pulled on the tunic.

Bridwell is a man of steel.

Oh my. Another one for the ladies. (I read that as Cameron being the man of steel the first time and had to double-take..)

Now the next scene has to involve some really bloody fighting, and a gorey torture scene, and we are ready to get this RP commissioned by HBO.

That would be really cool man. I'd definitely like to read it when you're done!

Actually it's based off the books more than the show, which I have yet to see.

I started reading the first book a few weeks ago and sped through half of it in a day, I've been hooked on the series since and haven't stopped reading.

However the books area much much more gritty and in depth about everything, including intimate scenes, than what we've posted or what's shown on TV.

If we start posting like the books describe things we will get locked out of the forums so damn quickly.

Jaqen H'gar is far more than just a 'prisoner', but I won't spoil it for you. Athell, I'm from the UK so close timezone to Europe. And if we really want to make this like a HBO series we need to kill off a few main characters shockingly ;).

Hey Arniel is loosely based on Petyr Baleish so this could be okay for me for a while. ;) Jaquen is a very cool character. I'm UK too, it's just strange logging on and this thread has jumped forwards 30 posts.

Oh gosh, I'm afraid I've never read any of the books (nor seen the series in question, truth be told). My Evermore is more inspired by Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast, if anyone knows it. Which everyone should. Not so much "gritty" as rich, indulgent and giddy with the opium-fumes of magical, free-flowing prose. The first part, Titus Groan is probably the most beautifully written novel in the English language. Its a vision of what fantasy could have turned out as, before it went the tiresome LOTR route. While I am in my gushing devoted fan mode, here is the first paragraph of that book, just to give you a taste:

Spoiler
“Gormenghast, that is, the main massing of the original stone, taken by itself would have displayed a certain ponderous architectural quality were it possible to have ignored the circumfusion of those mean dwellings that swarmed like an epidemic around its outer walls. They sprawled over the sloping arch, each one half way over its neighbour until, held back by the castle ramparts, the innermost of these hovels laid hold on the great walls, clamping themselves thereto like limpets to a rock. These dwellings, by ancient law, were granted this chill intimacy with the stronghold that loomed above them. Over their irregular roofs would fall throughout the seasons, the shadows of time-eaten buttresses, of broken and lofty turrets, and, most enormous of all, the shadow of the Tower of Flints. This tower, patched unevenly with black ivy, arose like a mutilated finger from among the fists of knuckled masonry and pointed blasphemously at heaven. At night the owls made of it an echoing throat; by day it stood voiceless and cast its long shadow.”

If nobody minds, my Evermore will be a homage to Gormenghast.

(I'm from the UK as well, btw..)

Thanks for the warm welcome, I think I'll go with the ex-pirate, now a battle-ship captain under the ruler of The Kingdoms of Northpoint. Looking at this map: http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab216/asapp152/OPaPGeoMap-2.jpg the captains ship would have its major bay precisely at northpoint. His job is to keep intruders away from northwind and sharnhelm. Obviously his ship isn't the only one guarding the seas outside that area, but his is the biggest and most experienced. I'll get a char-sheet up as well as battle-ship-sheet up soon. :)
