Oh look! What's this, a new character? Yes, it's a new character. For Shornhelm, of all places:

Spoiler
Name: Meldorn Lariat
Title: Rightful Prince of Shornhelm
Age: 22
Race: Breton
Gender Male

Appearance: A darkly handsome young man, Meldorn Lariat has a noble jaw, a strong, chisled nose and smoldering, dark-red eyes that betray the Lariat family's Dunmeri ancestor, Empress Katariah I. Meldorn Lariat chooses to wear his medium-length, jet-black hair slicked backwards neatly, though his present circumstance has left his hair shoulder-length and tangled. Normally clean shaven, at present Meldorn wears an unruly, dark beard that uncompases all his jawline. Where once his eyes would shine keenly, now they glimmer in desperation. Meldorn had been a tall, athletic young man but is now starved to little more than a skeleton. Rags are the Prince's rainment now.

Skills: In his youth in the Court of Shornhelm Meldorn had excelled at archery, jousting, fencing and wrestling, in the traditional Aldmeri-Cyro style. While not a philosopher nor a magician by any stretch of the imagination, Meldorn was a keen reader of the great strategists, owning every work by Codus Callonus, and having read Zurin Arctus' Art of War Magic more than a dozen times. His youthful delight in all things warlike led the young Meldorn into a position in command of a small cavalry division in the war with Northpoint which, marring one event, he handled excellently.

Equipment (Weapons, armor, misc.): Rags, shackles.

Background: Nephew to the King of Shornhelm, the son of King Allard's younger brother Roland, Meldorn spent a happy childhood sparring with the other young princes and nobles, learning the way of the knight. Knowing that he was several rungs away from ever being King, Meldorn was happy to prove his family a Knight, and excelled in most of his studies. The only thing marring Prince Meldorn's pleasant upbringing was his rather unruly spirit. More than once when Meldorn felt he had been wronged he ended up breaking another boy's nose, or worse. Though never expected to be King, young Meldorn was groomed for the highest station. During the war with Northpoint, young Meldorn's insatiable interest in warfare would not allow his parents to leave him aside, and after a year or so's nagging, he was given command of a small detachment of Cavlery in his father's army.

Though the war was a losing one, Meldorn fought valiantly, and was ultimately captured in the Battle of White Haven, a massacre in which his father and both his brothers were killed. Meldorn was as unruly as ever as a hostage, and made many attempts to escape. When brought face to face with King Daric, Meldorn spat in the monarch's face in front of half of the nobles of Northpoint. For this, and other crimes, Meldorn was locked up in a castle deep in King Daric's domain, and was never ransomed back like most of the other nobles. As so many died in those final, dark days in the war with Northpoint, most in Shornhelm assume Prince Meldorn was executed, or fell in battle. Not a single soul in all of the conquered Kingdom know the face of Prince Meldorn. First under house arrest, and then thrown in the dungeon, Prince Meldorn is still lives, three years now a prisoner. Forgotten even by the Kingdom who holds him prisoner, taunted by his jailer, starved for weeks on end, has anyone in High Rock fallen as far as Meldorn Lariat? Yet still something keeps the Prince in rags alive.

OP is updated.

Currently working on some history of Camlorn, should be done by Friday.

Athell, sorry but I might not be able to post until tomorrow. Just got home from our first track meet of the season and I'm whooped. It rained pretty much the entire time so I'm a little lacking in inspiration tonight.

Absolutely no worries, there's a small chance I'll post tomorrow but it's unlikely considering I'm working all of the day then training in the evening. Either way we seem to be in no rush to get to Evermore.

Alright.

I might post tonight if I get bored and have nothing else to do. I thought it was later than it was.

I kinda feel like Northpoint is being villainized by all the Sharnhelm players. Jaqen, you and I need to start rectifying this!

I'll post again when we get to the Festival of Peace. There's not much for a count of a minor town and a sparsely populated domain to do on his own.

Northpoint are pretty much confirmed as villainous, there is nothing you can do. The House of Lariat will rise again! Actually, yeah, no. Hopefully that scene we've got planned will paint some of the shades of grey :)

Point. When should we start the festival, guys? I'm as ready as can be.

I think we should finish all the talking and stuff before the festival, even if it means we wait a week or two. This is too complex and big for us to rush into events. :)

I say we go ahead and start the arriving before the festival starts. We can all catch up on dialogue in one post, then timeskip forward in another (or the same post if you divide it into two sections). Anyone who still needs to post for Pre-Festival can, and then we'll date our festival posts so that we all arrive at around the same few days before the festival.

That sounds good to me. Those traveling from Camlorn of Daggerfall would probably arrive first, as travellers from Northpoint, Wayrest or Shornhelm don't have that far to go, and could time their arrival better.

All the Daggerfall/Camlorn guys going in Wayrest's territory by land, let me know.

It'd be terrible for anyone to stumble upon a pretty large gang of bandits, especially one's that are Wayrestian soldiers suited up like scoundrels.

Oh Vincent ... you've just given me a hostage.

And hey, Daric's far from evil ... he's a little stern perhaps. Since this was based on Game of Thrones, I imagined him as a Stannis type figure. Stern and maybe considered harsh but honorable in his own way.

Part of the conceit for Meldorn is that he has even been forgotten by his captors. Deric would remember, probably (he did spit in his face after all). Still, Meldorn has a LONG WAY to go if he's ever going to reach Shornhelm.

Ummm 30-40 bandits versus roughly 8 Knights of the Wolf, more than a few Knights of the Stone, close to 25 men-at-arms, and around 25 house guards? Yeahhhh that will work haha

And If you try and attack Camaron then be prepared to face a miniature army. :P

Robert Baratheon had a humongous host when he rode north to Winterfell. I expect Camaron to ride in similar style.

You can access Evermore without traveling through Wayrestian lands. The fastest route is up the Bjoulsae.

Poor Olybrius is just riding a horse and bringing a guard or two.

I do like your description of Camaron's guards, though. Very Milo and Clodius.

You peeps ain't seen nothing, Camaron is bringing over half his kingdom. He needs bodyguards for himself, more bodyguards for Kelmena, maids for Kelmena, that Redguard swordsmaster, and ooh, a gift for Syllawen you say? Alright, get someone to lead him around. Now that that's settled, we can't have Bridwell and that duke riding without escorts too, now can we. What was that? More nobles? Alright, more chevaliers. Bring some servants too. And prosttutes of course, yes, I don't trust the Evermore industry. Might catch something nasty from these bloody easterners.

Fingers crossed I'll get a post detailing Evermore's readiness up today. I'll date it at 9th of Frostfall, giving anyone who wants to arrive a day or two early scope. I honestly think we should get this moving as quickly as possible, don't want to lose momentum. Maybe travel posts would be cool? The party will be the meat of it, and for most of us our first interaction in this RP.
