Astien is good at single combat and fencing. Melees are more like throwing 40 people in a dirt pit with armor and swords and letting them brawl. :P

Astien always takes the easiest route, and defeating the champion after he's defeated everyone else would minimize harm to him and ensure that he wins, which is all he wants to do.

However we could also have a fencing competition which would be pretty cool, and rather different.

Yeah, then, not a melee, but a series of duels. More gentlemanly. Would that fit as the tournament to crown the King of Peace?

maybe different melees and from every melee there are a few winner who could duel each other in a series of duels ? I just wouldn't get rid of the melee.

and man you're right. only the feast will take really long to complete :P

anyway, I'm almost done with my post for Aleron and I'll say right now that my post for Lorundil will be shorter but than again, Aleron's post consists of a small piece in morning, then the afternoon and then the burial a day later at midnight.

Forget ye not, o people of Evermore, the wondrous attraction from the lands beyond the mountains. One time only! Courtesy of his Majesty the King of Daggerfall! The wondrous JAHEEL, the Sword-Mystic of the South! Come one come all, spar with this Redguard marvel taught by the very old masters of Yokuda and be astounded as he gazes into your very being through the medium of the sword!

THE TOURNAMENT OF PEACE:

There are to be five different melees, each selecting a champion. A single blow is a knock-out, causing permanent injury is a disqualification. After this there will be a final free-for-all between these five, who may each use a weapon of their choice, deciding a new King of Peace, who will sit beside the Queen of Peace (her Majesty Syllawen Direnni) during the ceremony to be held that evening.

How does that sound? Hope people like the symbolism in the five :)

And what's up with like every other post having some form of sixual escapade in it? Elissa's going to feel so left out, considering nothing she'll do will ever be that ... explicit.

Actually, that happens two days later. The Witch's Holiday is just afterwards, and any mages who want to stick around are welcome.

Yeah, I think I'll write up Ely's son sheet tomorrow morning.

Also, if you're traveling to Evermore, be ready for a twist.

Btw.. The duke of Sharnhelm has given nearly all his wealth away to the poor in the realm... How can he afford to maintain a huge navy? Or am I missing something here?

Or is it Barnan that is leading and maintaining the whole navy?

Huge navies were very rare and the only navies that would be maintained, imo, would be that of Daggerfall and Wayrest, along with the Direnni (and they wouldn't even be huge). Ships are very expensive to make. I honestly doubt Camlorn or even Northpoint, Sharnhelm or Evermore would have much of a navy at all. The idea of an active military is very expensive and not m any nations had these types of things in our history (unless you were an empire). I doubt much of even an active military would be trained. Most fuedal militaries were composed of knights and levied conscripts, along with some trained soldiers (men at arms, etc.). I could perhaps see Orsinium in all of this having one of the greatest militaries, simply because they would call the tribes of the Wrathgarians together- a seemingly warlike nation. I could only see Daggerfall and Wayrest being able to afford large navies due to their income and size. Everyone else would be left out in the cold (sorry Anticlere) and would be reliant on one of the two as far as naval power goes.

The navy doesn't have more than 560 men. One huge ship and 12 lesser ships. And it has been active and on the build for quite some time, the building of those ships done with the economical help a huge underground smuggling operation and years of plundering high rock.

Yeah mate, but do you realize how expensive ships are, especially when they just had a major war and Sharnhelm is an inland city?

Expensive is a relative word. If you control the illegal trade-routes of high rock, the prize goes down quite a lot. And well, chambers upon chambers of gold, emerald and sapphire valuables stolen over the years and years made it possible. All Barnan needed was an alliance with someone who could pardon him, give him a port and workers, and many years. We are talking about the most successful pirate out there, practically sitting on an amount of wealth that would make any duke of high rock jealous. (but he used most of the fortune to build this navy and rather likes the change of winds in his life)

By the by I'm staking a claim for Kelmena Thagor, since I sorta can't properly RP in Daggerfall without having a wife for Camaron. Sheet incoming.

You could say that you captured several vessels for the navy, and just purchased and refurbished some older ships as well.

Enter the Queen.

Spoiler

Name: Kelmena Thagor
Title: Her Majesty the Queen of Daggerfall
Age: 22
Race: Breton (Camlornese-Anticlerian)
Gender: Female

Appearance: Kelmena has always been said to take more after her southerner mother, and quite rightly so. At five feet seven, she is not extraordinarily tall, of a slightly tanner complexion than most Breton aristocrats tend to be – much like is common for Anticlerians. She carries herself with the dignity of expected of a lady and the queen of one of the greatest powers in Daggerfall, and even those in her husband’s court who are loathe to have a queen from the ‘barbarian’ distant north cannot fault her there.

It is fortunate for western High Rock that Kelmena is among the more attractive noblewomen in the west; otherwise, King Camaron may have simply refused her father’s proposal of marriage and doomed High Rock’s west to a potential war. With thin, slightly arched eyebrows that sit above her expressive light green eyes, a small, slightly snub nose and thin lips, the Queen of Daggerfall is almost the very image of a Bretic noblewoman, further aided in creating such an appearance by the curly dark brown hair that frames her face.

Skills: Kelmena was not raised to be neither a warrior nor some free-spirited marvel; she was to be a noblewoman, to act as is appropriate for her station and to carry herself with dignity no matter what situation she was in. That is mostly what she can claim to do best, along with having something of a thirst for knowledge; she can speak not only her native Bretic and Cyrodiilic, but also ancient Yoku, old Bretic and Aldmeris, being familiar with many famous texts and poems and having a reputation as the patron of musicians in particular.

Equipment: Kelmena’s wardrobe is suitably grand and varied for the Queen of Daggerfall; though Camaron can often be an inattentive husband, when his (actually genuine, despite what some might say) love for her takes hold, no gift is too lavish and no expense too great to assure that his wife does not feel embarrassed in the company of even the richest women of Tamriel. Her own tastes tend to steer towards the famed Nibenese silks, and she is particularly well known for possessing a dress of true moth soul-silk, its exquisite material seemingly alive in how its colours shift and change with even the smallest of the queen’s movements, settling to a sky-blue when undisturbed.

Background: The oldest of the daughters of Archduke Senhyn of Camlorn, Kelmena was always destined to be a bargaining chip in the grand game of High Rock’s thrones; a fate that infuriated her at youth but which she has since grown to accept. What she did not expect, however, was that she would be married off to Daggerfall, sealing a vital alliance between that land and her father’s domains and becoming the kingdom’s new queen. She has since settled into this life, giving birth to twin boys for her husband – Willem and Telwen, who are now of aged two – and apparently managing to adapt to the unpredictable pace of the infamous Camaron of Daggerfall. On the outside, it seems that the young queen has since come to terms with her husband’s infidelity and approached the responsibilities of her new rank with an energy characteristic of her, but what she truly feels no one can tell.
