probably one of my best RP ideas ever

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 11:10 pm

So, my person is part of a small faction called the desert cops, they keep the desert in order (break up skirmishes between NCR and Legion, Kill raiders and gangs etc)

One day he reads a magazine called "true police stories" that is when he suddenly decides, he wants to be a 50s style cop/investigator, solving cases and such

Items:
benny's suit
Dapper gambler hat
authority glasses
9mm pistol
Whiskey

He has already solved a missing person case in the ultra-luxe

what do you guys think?

p.s anybody got any ideas of "cases" he can solve?

hunting shotgun and .357 magnum revolver

perhaps go for the .44 magnum, but that is more 70's Dirty Harry style

The 9mm is good too, but as far as longarms go I think sticking with the shotgun would be appropriate.

How about Return to Sender? Or maybe even Hard Luck Blues?

Well, the Police Pistol (Dead Money) must be a strong candidate, surely?

How Little We Know or Someone To Watch Over Me.

Two excellent suggestions. Especially the first one, its got undercover police mystery all over it.

I like your idea. Indeed the Police Pistol from the Dead Money add-on is a good choice.

One other tip: Dermot in Westside is wearing a Police Hat. One of the few in New Vegas. The only one, I think. There are also a few in Dead Money, apparently. May be a good look.

That's a good idea. The http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Powder_Gang_soldier_outfit also looks very policey. Does disguise you as a Powder Ganger though, and as such will cause hostility by NCR and Caesar's Legion.

Hey, great idea.

As great an idea as it is, what's funny is imagining the reactions of people who meet this guy dressed and acting like a cop.
"What the hell, dude. What? Okay, sure. No really, I'm not mocking you. It's awesome.
...
No, I'm not mocking you. No, I'm not challenging your authority. Wait..what are you doing? NO! Hey! Don't tase me, bro. Don't tase me!"

I would recommend wearing the investigator's outfit from Beyond the Beef at the Ultra-Lux casino.

Also download the Realistic Gunshot Sounds Mod off of New Vegas Nexus, the mod changes the .44 magnum to have the same sound in the Dirty Harry movies lol.

To keep with that detective persona I would restrict myself to just revolvers and pistols. A 357. magnum or .44 magnum, or 9mm or .45 pistol would seem the most fitting.

Joe actually did something like this in Failing Fallout 3. Declared himself a sheriff and hunted outlaws. It was kinda neat because he could use the slave collars to 'sentence' raiders to 'hard time'. At that stage he couldn't get into paradise falls, so he figured he was doing the wastes a favor.

It's too bad you can't loot that thing without playing on PC though. Not sure which console the OP is playing.

Arsenal: Dinnerbell, Police Pistol or A Light Shining in the Darkness, Cattle Prod (or compliance regulator and police baton), .45 SMG, This Machine, Dynamite/long fuse/timebombs, frag mines (especially to detonate piles of dynamite)

You could try a business suit but Benny's suit makes more sense... ? binoculars ? ... I have no idea how to really put the period ensemble together but I feel pretty confident about the weapons listed above. Random items could include loose cigarettes or gum
