Problem after updating BOSS master list with BOSS manager

As I've been kindly suggested in another thread, I'll start a new one to try and solve my problems

So, first of all, my problem started after using the BOSS master List manager to update my master list, I suppose it also added some bash tags tp my mods, because when I went back and rebuilt my bashed patch I noticed a lot of new mods had import options, I happily clicked them all (Bad move...)
Now my games loads normally to main menu, but if I try to load my savedgames it hangs near the end and I must restart my pc, I also tried a new game, I use Alternative Start, I was able to appear in the boat for the character creation, but as soon as I tried entering the worldspace, It hanged forever on loading.

Now, After many (many) hours of testing I bellieve that it has been caused by some tags added to my BP... I'm currently trying disabling them one by one to see if something changes, but in the meantime here's my L\O

Oh wow. What did you use BOMM to do? Your load order goes screwy starting at MMM - Resized Races. It looks like you failed to read a few ReadMes and Mod FAQs, major compatibility problems. I will explain in a bit, but I want you to hear this now. Get rid of all of your cosmetic mods except for RBP. That means, uninstall COBL Races anything and the MMM Resized Races plugin. Did you use BOMM to switch around SM, LAME and RBP? Were you trying to do this:

\BeginGroup\: Supreme Magicka \BeginGroup\: L.A.M.E.
--moves the SM group after LAME

Thx, I'll start doing as you suggest...
Actually my system was quite stable before... Amd I had no issue with cosmetic mods, anyway I'll start removing them.

As for magic, I want Supreme magicka over LAME, so my guess is LAME/ Supreme Magicka/ Bg race rebalance should be the general order, no?

Have you updated BOSS and Wrye Bash recently? BOSS got a recent update to allow for OOO specific options, and Wrye Bash got a bunch of new tags in recent updates.

The point is that BOSS' ordering for your load order is fine in terms of the SM, RBP, LAME dynamic. All you have to do to have SM load after LAME is use the override that I posted above. No other changes are necessary for concerning the ordering of those three.


In the define overrides section, the first section
1st col. 2nd col.
\BeginGroup\: Supreme Magicka \BeginGroup\: L.A.M.E.

Looks like Tomlong has answered your questions.

If his BOMM suggestions do not resolve the problem, it might be worth posting your BOMM Overrides and Load Order Definitions so that we can see what you are changing. Worth noting that BOMM only adds or changes anything in the BOSS master list based on what you specify - it does not add or change any bash tags without you telling it do so.

Why did you override SL's definition. Do not move DR plugins yourself either unless they are undefined? Might I as why you chose to make those changes. They make no sense to me, aside from the last one.

Body mods are not cosmetic mods. Also, you can run multiple cosmetic mods together, but if they overlap you have to know what your are doing. RBP and COBL races are absolutely NOT compatible. If you look at COBL Races' description, it says that is based on RBP, a stripped down version. In other words, you were running two copies of practically the same mods, which is a "no-no." Also, RBP and COBL races resize the races, or at least RBP does, I do not use, have not used, and will not use COBL Races. Therefore, using the MMM Resized Races mod was just all kinds of unnecessary cause for conflict. If you prefer the MMM size changes for some reason, you need to edit RBP with TES4Edit, to use those sizes or something.

Worth noting that BOMM only adds or changes anything in the BOSS master list based on what you specify - it does not add or change any bash tags without you telling it do so.


Just wanted to add that I know it's my fault, really!!! I came back to Oblivion after a couple of months, found all this new toys and forgot how painful is to remedy to your own errors while modding oblivion!
The manager does everything as advertised, and I again thank you for it!

Remove all of the overrides excepting the SM-relative one. Rebuild your bashed patch after that. (You can use this bhttp://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/utilities/wrye-bash/bashedpatch as a guideline.) Your load order was probably part of this failure to load problem.

Actually Deadly reflex used to give me a lot of troubles when loaded earlier... I could give it a shot again and try it with the suggested order.
Also SM_Deadly reflex is loaded before Supreme Magicka... I believed having yellow squares in Wrye BAsh was a big "no-no" so I always reordered them...

As for DP mods, the author always specifies to load them last, after the bashed patch, so I took that as the best way to load them.

That is one of the aspects of modded Oblivion that takes the longest time to learn, so I cannot jump on you for trying to follow the author's instructions. However, respect "current" projects too. As the tools become more advanced, mods with instructions made in the past have to be reevaluated. Ask the BOSS thread why the change was made, before making those sorts of changes.

You are obviously right...
I usually read documents with attention... But sometimes language, time and other factors combine, and you lose some piece of vital info... That's why I stick to author's notes and readmes aven when they are outdated, again thanks for the advice!
Anyway, I'm rebuilding my B. patch, so, wish me luck!

Well, here is a new tip. Bow to BOSS, and look at the ReadMe when it does not recognize a plugin or you find out one of your Oblivion problems is related to a bad load order. Otherwise, BOSS is good more than 90% of the time these days. I am not expecting all users to have read through even three quarters of the ReadMes of their 200+ mod setups, not thoroughly...like some people with no life *cough, cough*...try 500? 700?...I once scripted all of my 500 or so OMODs, even if they only had one plugin. I would make scripts just to avoid adding an extra document, or rename the documents folders so that they all installed to the same place, total compulsive organizer.

No, thank you. I like being amused, haha. I am not kidding when I say I am a compulsive organizer and...troubleshooter? haha. It takes longer to rebuild my bashed patch than to install QTP3 with BAIN, or maybe the issue is that I have to rebuild my bashed patch so much more frequently. Not to mention, the evil little bar sits in the middle of your screen counting out each dreadful second until shortly after 7 minutes when it finishes. You can do so much in 7 minutes these days...geez.

Alas, the trimming and reordering, didn't work... It still hangs on loading, guess I'll have to find something new! Also I have this strange python error that I've never seen before...

user Interface? Yes, a painstaikingly customized one, I might add... But since i can reach the first cell, where I create a new character with Alternative Start, and I see mi UI, i don't think that's the cause...

Oh, well that is one of the symptoms of not changing the fonts in the Oblivion.ini if you use DarN. I will have to think on it some more then, but do not forget...

I should also add that if I disable My bashed patch (I know, it's stupid, just testing) I'm able to load my 200h savedgame, and even able to start a new one... So the problem must be one of the mods bashed in the patch... or maybe a faulty tag.

What is the eye issue? Something that WB 281 solved??!? Well I guess being locked away form oblivion at least has the added bonus of not having to worry about new issues...


edit: also, updating to WB 281 solve the python error, so that's one less issue :D

Not everyone suffered that issue. I sure did not. However, the people who had the issue wasted no time posting in the WB thread, over and over and over and...yeah... Do not worry about it, but v281 should have some nice new functionality for BAIN. :D
