Problem using scrolls...

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:36 am

I've found several seemingly useful scrolls during my travels in Skyrim. However, they all seem to never fire off. Well, I got Conjure Storm Atronach to go off once, but the monster I was fighting had already been put down by my follower. When I equip the scroll, my hands display the appropriate effect (based on school/element, I guess) but I can sit there for many seconds with my finger on the mouse button, yet when I release the button, nothing happens. Regular spells and staves seem to work OK, just not scrolls. Can anyone venture a guess as to what I'm doing wrong?

A lot of them require you to charge it. Try holding down the button.

That's what I've been doing, but it doesn't seem to work. I seem to recall holding the button down for at least 10 seconds, but the spell still doesn't go off.

Hmm, just thought of something. Typically my character has a weapon in the right hand, and a spell in the left. Thus I'm used to using the right mouse button for casting spells. Will casting the scroll work with the right mouse button. IIRC, the scroll effect seems to fill both hands.
