Problem with Actor Details...

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 10:48 am

Prints out to the console a list detailing the current state of an actor.

Instructions say:
"to create a list for an actor, hold down the right shift key while an actor is highlighted under the cursor."
"to create a list for the player, hold down the right shift key when no object is highlighted under the cursor."

When I point to my companion with the cursor and then press "Right-shift", A small window pops up that says:
"Done" and there's a button under it that says "Done".
If I press the button, the window disappears. I don't see the Actor Details displayed anywhere. Actually, doesn't matter where I point the cursor, the results are the same.
I also opened the console and selected my companion, then closed the console and tried again. Same results.

Anyone known what the following refers to (specifically, "MenuMode"):
1.1, 5 January 2009: The output of the UI component name under the cursor is now turned off by default.
To display the UI component name under the cursor, hold down the right-shift key when in MenuMode.

Hey speedyg869!

The Done window with the Done button is intentional.

The actual Actor Details info is printed in the console.
So after you dismiss the Done window with the Donw button, open the console and you'll see the Actor Details info in that.

If my memory is correct, the UI component name is the name of the button that the cursor is on.
Having the name of the button (i.e. the XML location is the name of the button) is useful when dynamically controling UI elements.

I hope that helps! Cheers!

Ok. After opening the console, I see 15 lines of info (affects, factions). The rest has scrolled off. But I can't scroll back the console.
And Conscribe didn't write anything in the Static.log. At least, I got something. I thought I checked the console to first time I ran it, but I guess I missed it.
Thanks for your response, by the way!

Get ShadeMe's ConScribe mod to get console items to a TXT file:
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26510

That's the only way I knew how to get the console log into a TXT file.
But that was more than a year ago.
There may be other methods now - I don't know.

Ok. Thanks! :) There's also the Nerhim conversion, if you are looking for new scenery.
