I took a trip to Vault 87 to get anything I missed from my first time in there. After a while of looting I entered the Test Labs and noticed Charon wasn't with me, after looking around I found him on the floor, not dead, and he still showed on my compass as a friend. No Super Mutants were near and the was no blood anywhere. I was using him as a pack mule, unloading all my big weapons on him too. It tells me to press A to talk to him but it takes me to the load out screen like he is dead.
