Problem with FPS

I reinstalled New Vegas few days ago, installed a lot of mods and started new playthrough. Game was running relatively smoothly, then I started losing few FPS every hour. I changed texture pack to smaller and removed few esps - no change. Later, during fight with a lot of particles flying around (i was using incerinator) stuttering reached it's cap and then... disappeared. I was shocked when my game started running gloriously at 80+ FPS. It wasn't stuttering at all, so my PC handles New Vegas very well with amout of mods I use - it's not the case.
However now I'm experiencing it again, and I really don't want to wait for it to fix itself. What is causing it?

I'm using 4gb enabler, fake windowed mode (with broken Steam Cloud support), NVSE with stutter remover plugin, and following mods:

My hardware setup is almost identical and I seem to have a very similar (if not the same) problem.
The issue I have is the same sort of degenerative performance drop (about 3-4 frames/sec less per hour), but I haven't had it reverse itself like you have.
Here's a brief overview of my setup for reference:

AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition (Deneb), Clocked at 3.5GHz (stock)
AMD Radeon HD 5670, factory OC'd to 790MHz core, 1GHz memory
4Gb DDR3 RAM, 1.6GHz

All running under windows 7 home premium SP1, but this was also occurring under my copy of XP Pro SP3.
My temps are well under 50C. Here are my typical temps under load:
CPU: 42C
GPU: 47C
MB: 26C
HDD: 30C


I'm absolutely baffled. I've tried removing all of my mods and starting a new game, and it does indeed work for a while, but after the 10 hour mark I'm back in the same boat. This is driving me nuts!

What mods are you using? Disabling Project Reality, Purge Cell Buffers and Merged Patch, loading and saving game, and then reactivating them fixed that for me. I'm not sure which one caused memory leak. Anyway, try to load clean save.

I'm having the same problem - degenerative fps loss over a few hours. But it never reverts itself. I can start a new game getting ~40 fps and then I watch it slowly come down over the course of a few hours until I can't play any more @ 8 fps. There is another thread on it here:
