Problem with Gamestop DLC Code

Post » Wed Dec 16, 2009 10:14 pm

I preordered the game from Gamestop for the 360, and got the classic pack. The box was sealed, but when I tried to redeem the code it rejects it as invalid. Cannot get through to a live person at gamesas...ended up using thier support form. Anyone else having this problem?

Try redeeming the code via your computer (go to www.xbox.com, log in, go to Account, then 'redeem code'). If it still says it's invalid, e-mail GameStop, and tell them about it. It's possible that they gave you a bad code, but it's also possible that someone else guessed yours.

Tried entering the code on xbox.com...no joy. Called Gamestop, and was told "it svcks to be you" and to contact gamesas. Sent a email anyway....maybe the rep processing thier emails gives a [censored] and will help me. I knew there was a reason I don't usually shop at Gamestop...they just reminded me. I already tried calling gamesas, and getting put on hold for a half hour for a long distance toll call again is not very appealing. I guess I'll have to hope the form I sent in gets results.

I've got the same problem. I really wanted that canteen. What did they end up telling you once you got through to gamesas?

I had this issue with the Enslaved: Odyssey to the West game preorder. Contact gamestop and tell them about it. They will ask for a couple things off of your receipt that you need to provide and then they will send you a new code. They were really nice about it too and I had the code within a few days.

I received a email this morning responding to my form submission asking me to try it again in 24 hours and to let them know if it still doesn't work.....a couple of hours after that I got a PM from a Admin re this thread asking me to contact them. I think it's safe to say it's just a matter of time now until I have a working code one way or another. Nothing back from Gamestop yet...it's pretty obvious who cares (gamesas) and who doesn't (Gamestop).

I don't buy the it svcks to be you line. Maybe you should man up and take the game to the store, demand a new copy with the code and if they don't do that, request to speak with their DM. They do svck, they are retail, but their main concern is MAKING YOU HAPPY. You can have people get in trouble or possibly fired if you were really treated the way you described.

"Man up"? Pretty big words for someone's third post.

As far as what they said....since you are obviously incapable of understanding sarcasm I'll explain it to you without using too many big words. No, they didn't actually say "It svcks to be you", they used the corporate psycho-babble that effectively means the same thing...that they weren't going to help me and would appreciate it if I went away. The rep I spoke to on the phone was kinda rude, but he didn't actually say anything that would justify trying to screw him with his bosses. The email I got was pure boilerplate, probably a canned response. The initial responses I got from gamesas (both Support and Admins here) look promising so I will see what they're going to do....going to the store and screaming at the teenagers working there is a lame way to deal with it.
