Problem With GTX750

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:39 am

there i wanna talk about a problem that i found when setting the game quality.Fallout 4 can't detect any video hardware and i have on my pc a GeForce GTX750 that should be able to run the game at least with a medium quality. The problem is that the video card is not detected, neither with fully upgraded drivers at 358.91WHQL (the perfect one for fallout 4) and GeForce Experience. And i'm not the only one facing this problem,u can find lot of discussion on Reddit or Steam support but none has found a solution.

Please bethesda help us playing this wonderful, but lagging, game.

If GeForce experience doesn't detect your card, is this a Fallout problem? Or am I not reading your post correctly?

same problem but I just set the game to medium and turn on off most of the tickbox options in advanced settings. @B1gBadDaddy its the launcher not checking the correct registery key, which might also be stopping the game from using my LCD's native resolution of 1366x768 in windowed mode, it forces 1280x720

Hey Drw33d

We've seen this come up a few times where players have had to disable the Nvidia streaming service. Can you please try that, and then launch Fallout 4 as administrator? This may help bypass whatever controls aren't detecting your GPU.

Ah I see.

FYI disabling that service can stop GeForce Experience from loading properly, if you rely on that for anything. At least when I tried it I couldn't open it anymore, just had an icon in the taskbar.

This is a problem that they will have to fix, i have tried latest drivers and don't have Geforce Experience installed and have had the same problem since day one, other games such as New Vagas and Skyrim detect the video hardware fine.

. Question is how long will it take them to fix it?

Can you not just choose a setting, like medium, and then run the game anyway?

So the settings don't take effect? Am I understanding that right? Or are you just saying each time you start they get reset?

A workaround to just get playing is run the game from steam once to set the settings, then run the game from fallout4.exe instead, which bypasses the launcher.

Hi there, I have recently just purchased fallout 4 for pc, I have a fx 6-300 proccessor a gtx 750ti and 8gb of crucial ballistix sport memory, I have encountered micro-stutter in fallout 4 and I know this because my framerate is 40fps and I will be juttering. Many people are facing the same problem a lot of them have 750ti's but this issue is not limited to that card . I have been waititng for fallout 4 ever since I finished 3 and NV 3 times ach respectively. I bought my pc specifically when fo4 was announced and now I can not play it due to this bug.I really feel bethesda need to fix this as it is very annoying and it makes the game quite frankly unplayable. This issue usually is worst inside buildings. Some people put the game into windowed borderless but that only works for a few people. I put my trust in Bethesda to fix this . I hope they do because I heard they have not foxed this in their previous titles. I feel this issue needs to be brought to their attention as many such as I cannot play this game. This game is amazing and it it would be a shame for people to miss ou on being able to play it. So with the power of many I hope this problem will be acknowledged and fixed by bethesda

(P.S FALLOUT IS [censored] AMAZING )

PLZ FIX

It's not the card nor the drivers. It's the game and launcher. I have a GTX 750 ti and, sorry but don't ask me how, I got it to recognize the card. As for how well the card itself runs the game, not well, but don't run out and buy a new card; people with high end cards are having just as many problems running the game. There are multiple problems at work, NONE OF WHICH IS YOUR CARD OR DRIVERS. It's texture compression, the amount of shadows that you (or anyone) have any way to disable, the amount of crap around everything, etc, etc, rinse, repeat, etc. It simply overloads cards GPU ability to render them ESPECIALLY INDOOR AREAS and BIG CITIIES. It's like they designed the game for future technology without realizing that 90% of people have middle of the road equipment. Except, even the 10% running high end rigs are finding that indoor and city areas drop their FPS to stutter city. I've been trying to tweak the .ini's in every way possible to smooth out the graphics and gameplay with no luck. Like you, skyrim and FNV are flawless on my rig, but Fallout 4? Junk. But, everyone telling you it's drivers, etc, etc, are blowing smoke. It's not.

i have a i7-4790 with 12 GB RAM and a GTX 750,before fallout i played lot of games, Mad Max, Rocket League , Dying Light ,Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain and Tomb Raider.None of them give me any kind of problem. No Low Fps or Low Graphic.Everything was good or excellent. And i came to the same conclusion,it isn't my video card or my fault, maybe the problem is in the launcher or the game itself, for this i wanna get the attention of a Bethesda administrator.Maybe if they know about this issue they can fix this problem.I hope that they will solve this problem.

@drw33d One thing you can try, JUST to see if it solves your recognition problem, is to edit the pref.ini itself. Go to the Fallout4 folder in your users directory. It'll be under your user directory, your user profile name directory, my documents, my games, fallout4. The file you want is the fallout4pref.ini file. Open it with notepad. There will be a line near the top that reads: sD3DDevice= and it should read: sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750" ... mine reads: sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti"

Save the file, then restart your launcher... right click on the fallout4 icon on the desktop and run it as admin. Start the game, load a save, quit, then go BACK to the fallout4pref.ini you edited to see if the line still holds your card or not.

Not sure if this helps, but, it's a start.
