problem with MOSG

Hey so i got MOSG recently (http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8987) after viewing it in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqEF8EzUBiQ

since i was still using the old stuff i had on my old comp. anyways, i download all the patches, install them in the proper order, and followed the instructions in installer PDF. I am regularly noticing FPS in the 15-20 range when in an exterior cell (interiors are usually solidly at 60). In spite of this, my game lacks the lighting effects seen in the video and I have absolutely no grass despite having chosen it during the MOSG setup.

Here are my comp specs:

-intel i7, 8 cores @ 3.07 ghz
-6gb ddr3
-radeon hd 6870
-vista (haven't put 7 on this machine yet since i got the disc back from my brother) 64 bit

And here are the specs in the video:

-Intel i7 quad core 2.8ghz processor (slightly overclocked @3.07ghz)
-6gb memory
-Nvidia GTX 580
-Windows 7 64bit

Now i haven't clocked my GPU yet because AOD won't work for me yet, but i should still be able to play comparably to this guy.

Here's an screenshot from in game (sorry for size, i had to do it from windowed mode):

Here are the settings i used originally for MGE (now i use the ones it recommended for my GPU, no noticeable changes):

And here are the settings i had chosen for MOSG:

I am running morrowind FPS optimizer and i am still noticing these framerates. Even if something has gone horribly wrong in that regard, it still doesn't explain the lack of grass. Is there a mod i could have had active that could screw with it? I haven't used anything other than a minor texture replacer so i doubt it would have ruined anything with the grass.

On a side note, i noticed that the textures for the insides of telvanni towers is quite bland, it doesn't seem to fit the design of the rest of the game (but maybe it's the fact that my lighting is nonexistent) and looks really monochromatic; i'm not sure if it's a texture error or what.

Thanks for any help.

You need to select grass .esp files during MGE distantland creation. Shaders are activated separately, in Tools > Shader editor.
