I've done this several times and it can get tedious if you're unlucky with it.
I always use the [Science] option, and have found that the best way to go is to wait for the Scribe to say 'Go' and then start looking for the virus. If I find it before the minute is up I partition it and then wait for the time to expire, at which point it jumps. Then I repeat the cycle until I find all 3 parts. Doing it this way it has never taken more than 5 runs to partition all 3 parts, mostly because I take a systematic approach to the actual search.
I always start the first run at the comp to the immediate left as you enter the room and move clockwise from there, ending in the middle. The second run I reverse that. The third I start with the comp to the right of the entrance, then the one to the left of the rear hallway, then the right of the rear hallway. If I need a 5th run I start with one of the 4 in the middle. I only needed to rotate thorugh those once, and at that time I had not yet developed this system for making sure I hadn't missed a comp. I can do each of these runs in 30-40 seconds, although sometimes it takes more like 50 if I get unlucky with virus positioning. The key to saving time is that as soon as the comp starts printing gibberish you close it and move on, since the three with the virus in them have a wisecrack remark instead. Also, you will not find more than one of the three parts per run, so as soon as you find one let the 60 seconds run out and then tell the Scribe you want to try again in order to set up the next run.
