Problem with Render window Oblivion Construction set

Post » Wed Apr 07, 2010 2:24 pm

I have read a lot of post so far and I cannot find any relating to or that tell me how to fix my problem.
I installed and updated oblivion and I have the latest version of the construction set, when I run the construction set everything loads except the render window.
It is the same when I load up the Oblivion.esm ( The master file).
I have tried running in compatibility mode and running as administrator but that does not work either, I even uninstalled and reinstalled (many times) even tried the older versions.
I cannot figure this problem out so if any one has any advice I am all ears.

just in case it helps my Computer specs are as follows.
AMD Phenom X3 2.4 GHz
2GB Corsair RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB (it svcks I know, but it gets the job done)
Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Those are the only things I can imagine the would matter if you need to know anything else please ask.

Are you saying that when you click on a double-click on a cell record the render window does not load? By default, nothing appears in that window, it remains grey. You have to select a record in the Cell window or something to load the worldspace or cellspace.

Yes, indeed, you have to open a cell before the render window is able to render anything haha.

I was wondering the same thing. There is nothing there until you click on something.

My apologies for the late reply.

I do try to open interior and world Cells.
lets use an example, I will try to open the imperial market place in the Construction set, and I see in the bottom bar that it is loading the data after I click on any item in the menu (like a door or a person or even a building), but nothing pops up that includes the render screen, the render screen it self will now appear and yes not even View->Render window works I have tried that.

Now I have in a way solved this issue by creating a new account on my computer and only allowing certain programs to start (Winamp and Tuneup Utilities and Rainmeter) on this account every thing works perfectly so I have come to the conclusion it is either a setting on my main account or one of my programs interfering with the construction set. Which program this is I am unsure of at the moment but I would never have made a topic if I absolutely could not find the answer on the internet or by myself.

I thank you for any help you have given me but none of it has worked or I have already tried.
I really just think it comes down to two issues.
My account setting or interference from another program or program setting, and if I ever figure out what the cause is I will be sure to remember it so I can help some one if they have the same problem.

Yet again thanks for the help but I will just create my mods on a second account for now.

GO to your My documents\MY Games\Oblivion folder and look for the ConstructionSet.ini file -- open it in notepad and find the following lines :

Render Window X=61
Render Window Y=194
Render Window W=1454
Render Window H=1005

and see what values are entered for the location and size of your render window (ie. x=61 would be 61 pixels in from the left top of the screen) --- If you have changed your desktop resolution lately it might be drawing the window off of the visible screen !!!

Way to hit the nail on the head, I would have never figured that out. Thank you.

This solves the problem and my 2 Idea's were wrong it was just off the screen.

Thanks JDFan and everyone else.
