I enter Scourg barrow, open the middle coffin, then jump down the tunnel, then hit the ground and die... can anyone help me?

You can level up to gain more HP, or you can raise your jumping skills to reduce the damage or you can use a slowfall spell or drink a slowfall potion. Or even a magical item that has these effects.

Or you can use the levitation effect, though if it's a potion I recommend you save it for better uses. :)

I'm new to Daggerfall, and I also have a problem related to the quest in Scourg Barrow.

I just got the response letter from the King of Worms and got out of Scourg Barrow, but I don't reach Wayrest in time (I only have one month to get Morgiah the letter), I'm 3 or 4 days too late.
Sadly I don't have a safe from before I arrived at Scourg Barrow.

So is there a way to either
-get back to Wayrest quicker (I already have a horse)
-or to continue with the MQ nonetheless? :verymad:

If you aren't already travelling recklessly, that could be an option (just be careful about the possibility of arriving in the city at night!); taking a ship and staying at inns might save you enough time, as long as you have the money for it of course. If those don't work, well... sadly, no, you can't continue the whole main quest since you've cut yourself off from half of it... many of the quests will still be open, if you want to get as far as you can, though. <_<

Thank you a lot, travelling by boat already saved me enough time, I didn't even think about different fast travel options.

If memory serves, one of the colored banners in the entry hall of Scourg Barrow can be used, and it'll apply a temporary levitation effect to your character. Lots of dungeons will have similar objects such as skulls or chains with levitation effects near areas where the player will need it.

The first time I started the main quest and got to this quest, I mistakenly jumped in the wrong coffin and landed in that big room with two small connecting rooms, but no exit. I overwrote my save game after killing a mummy there.

If I recall, there's an object you can click to get levitation to go back up.

I never thought of it and after searching for a long time for a secret door, I scrapped my character and started a new one. :P (I didn't know cheats were possible at the time. Didn't have Internet either to find how to get out.)

That frustrating event made me quit the main quest and I sticked to the faction quests. Until two years ago when I thought that "maybe I should finish this game at least once since I bought it. At least once." :P
