so i get to the last room and cant get the prototype i need to complete the quest. Deacon just stands there instead of activating the terminal

also, the Deliverer 10mm pistol isnt in the room. ive reloaded this quest three times now and Deacon just stands there

this is my second playthrough and i dont recall having this issue the first time. is the quest bugged? am i just an idiot and missing something? super tired of having to reload and waste time doing the same things over because of buggy quests

yeah, wouldnt want to "spoil" this bug for anyone else

this is from the wiki:

Deacon might stall in the hallway outside the room containing the locked vault and the inaccessible terminal. This can be prevented by following and clearing the dialogue tree at the start of the tunnel. To resolve the issue:

• Save and reload the game, and optionally attack and down Deacon before doing so.^[verified]


• Exit the Switchboard via the Elevator and exit to the Commonwealth, upon re-entering the Switchboard via the elevator the vault should now be accessible ^[verified]

thanks for trying to help but I wonder who "verified" this info. tried several times now with the same result every time. I don't even want to join the railroad, just want my damn ballistic weave

Happened to me too. Try heading back out towards the entry and come back in. Took me 1/2 a dozen tries, but it worked.

Try heading out to the entrance and back. It works eventually, although I'm not sure what triggered it. There was something about finding an item as well, but I never did and it didn't seem to matter.

thank you for the advice. I'm quite frustrated at this point. taking a breather and doing a couple other quests before I return
