I had preordered Crysis 2 Limited Edition back in spring 2011 via Steam. When the game was released, along with the base game activation key I got a LE Bundle code as well, which by going to a gamesas.com section for code activation could be converted to some neat stuff like early unlocks and a platinum dog tag outline.
It's 2013 and having the C2 Steam installation still on my HDD, I decided to pop in the game for a quick multiplayer round. I notice that most of the cool stuff is still there, like the pre-unlocked hologram-LOLogram emitter for the SCAR rifle. Going into the dog tag customization menu, though, had a surprise in store for me: the platinum dog tag outline was nowhere to be found and toggled.
Baffled as to why that happened, I log off the game and try to re-activate the LE Bundle code at the aforementioned gamesas.com section (gamesas.com/limitededition/), only to get notified the "product code was not found".
Disheartened, I opted not to get into the whole "Crytek/EA support cafaffle". Now gamesas.com is converted to crysis.com, which means the previously non-operational activation page does not even exist right now, and I have been essentially robbed of the extra money I gave for the Limited Edition.
Any ideas how to get that dog tag back?
